My son almost 10 months (on the 3rd) was outside with his for not that long at all..the next day he looked like he had chicken pox. I think they may get him when he is sleeping from everyone going in and out all day..but is there a home remedy? I tried vinegar..didnt work well and just had a strong smell..I bought after bite stuff too..but doesnt seem to work..he keeps waking up randomely in the night and he never does that!

Uggh I HATE mosquitos! I went outside the other day to sit on our swing for like 5 minutes & counted 9 mosquito bites on my legs! I don't know of any home remedies, but I did buy something from Avon called "Skin-So-Soft Bug Guard Plus" It also has SPF 30 sunscreen in it. It has worked nicely for us so far. You can use it on babies 6 months and older.

I use hydrocortisone cream. It works for my 4 year old. But i'm not sure if it's more of a placebo or if it really works. It wouldn't hurt to try. Or maybe an oatmeal bath.

Mosquito bites are something that I'm not excited for this coming weekend. We'll be outside a lot of the day on Sunday and I got eaten alive the other day.

I know one for stopping the itching. After it closes up a little or re scabs over you put some finger nail polish on it. It keeps it from reopening. It's good for tick bites too! Hope it helps

Happens with both my boys (4yrs & 9ms)!!! I use organic stuff with the baby, put it on him one day and he got bites completely around his face, where I didn't put it!!! For pain control we use the bendryl spray, especially for the older on, we just spray him down at bedtime. Also oatmeal in the bath water and/or as a paste helps. I have a friend who swears by the bands but I'm afraid of them going in the mouth. We are trying out the little fan things and they actually seem to work but the batteries run down at the most inopertune times. :-)
