I have gradually switched my son to whole milk and I was curious how much I should be giving him and how often?

b/w 8-16oz a day depending on how much calcium he's getting from other sources....cheese, yogurt, broccoli etc.

500-800mls of calcium per day

I give my son about 16oz of whole milk a day. I'd say that's probably about average. His doctor gave me a sheet of paper saying they should have between 12-16oz. Of course, each baby is different & some like more, some like less. I'd like to give my son whole milk throughout the day with his meals, but he still won't drink out of a sippy cup. I'm not really rushing it, because I know he'll do it when he's ready. But, for now I am giving him two 8oz bottles of whole milk & then water in between.

16-24ozs of milk a day is the amount i was told - any more then that can cause anemia. i give my son 3 6oz cups a day - but it's up to you if you want to give it in two servings or more smaller ones through out the day

My doctor told me my son should have three 5oz cups of milk. She said to give it with meals, and then give water in between to help him stay hydrated.

Our doctor said no more than 20 oz a day because it can cause constipation.
