Lily is 8 months and she is having yoghurt already and loves it I did try it when she was a bit younger and dont think agreed with her but all good now shes eating alot more food. alot of the baby yoghurts give you a recommended age on them some are 9 months some a year etc.

Well my little boy is 6 months 3 weeks, and I have been giving him the Gerber juice with yogurt in it, and he LOVES it, and he has done very well with it. I tried it for a couple of days, because sometimes it takes a while for the baby to show signs of allergy or upset stomach. He still loves it, and I love it too because it comes in tiny little plastic bottles that you can just fit one of your own nipples on it and give it to him.

just yesterday i asked my pedi about it (my son was born on the 23rd) and she told me not yet, but possibly she would give the okay to start him after his 9mth check up if all was going well then..my son is a bit ahead in his eating as well - he started solids at 4 months and is eating table food most of the time now, but i'd hold off a bit longer on the dairy products unless you get the ok from your dr...i was told that the earlier they start on dairy products their chances of developing a milk allergy/intolerance is raised.

I haven't started my little guy on yogurt yet, only because he won't really eat any solids. Here, they say yogurt and cheese are fine once they are eating other sources of protein. They are easier to digest than milk because of the enzymes in them. I go with Yobaby yogurt to start with, because it has no refined sugar in it and is whole milk and organic.

thanks ladies. i bought some gerber yogurt today just because i had a dollar off coupon for it lol. not sure when ill give it to her yet. i can understand some people not wanting to give whole milk. i have been a little bit ahead of schedule with her feedings. I havnt started puffs or nything like that but i did give her yogurt melts the other day but brke them into really small pieces. im a little hesitant to give those yet lol.

Hi Amy, I just had Miles at the dr and asked about yogurt. He looked at me funny and replied, "Of course you can give him yogurt." (He's 7 mos, 9/18) I ended up buying the Danonino because of the small packages and it seems to be going really well. Good luck with the decision (:

In Australia you can give yoghurt from 6 months. My 3 year old daughter didn't react well at 6 months and the Dr told me to wait until 8 months and then she was fine. My son was born on Sept 26 and he loves the Vaalia natural baby yoghurt.
You can't give cow's milk until 12 months as mum's milk (or formula) is the best food until then but as the baby's stomach won't react as well and it doesn't have the correct nutrients. You can give dairy- yoghurt and cheese. Between 6 and 12 months eating is about variety and experiences and you try one thing at a time to make sure your baby is coping with it.
I was advised against giving strawberry, oranges or kiwi fruit until a bit later as they can be very acidic and upset the stomach and cause rashes.

hey guys.....just FYI...even if it is yo baby yogurt, it doesn't mean its good for babies. It has whole milk in it and is really hard on their stomachs. Ask your doctor. They will say, "no, no, no!!" Look at the ingredients guys!!

Nicholas was born on the 26th and we've been giving him yogurt since his 6 month appt. I buy the yobaby yogurt and will usually only give him half the cup right now. I'll save the rest for the next day in a tupperware. He really seems to like it and it hasn't caused him any tummy problems. The kind I bought has apple and blueberry flavor, so I know it is nothing he would be allergic to.

The yogurt has milk in it so be careful. Doctors don't recommend milk until they are at least a year old because of allergy problems if you introduce it too soon.

My son is 7months today, and i gave him yogurt about a month ago. It's the baby yogurt! He loves it! I hate yogurt, and the smell of it. But he seems to love it!! I give it to him as a snack sometimes during the day!

I heard around 9 months. but if you think shes ready, go for it. you know your baby best. just wait a little longer for the strawberries, that seems to be a big irritator. and about the banana thing, maybe try just a mashed banana, cause they add stuff to it to keep it from turning colour. my 7 month old son does not like the jarred baby food bananas, but loves it mashed!

My daughter Maddie was born on the 22nd of September. I just bought her yogurt for the first time about a week ago. I bought the new one out by gerber. She took to it really well but after about an hour I realized she was having a allergic reaction to it! I just believe it is the Strawberry because my 6yr old daughter started with the yobaby at 4months because of her weight needing to be increased and loved it and did really well with it!
