I had my daughter July 12th. I stopped breastfeeding last week and it seems my milk has dried up.. I want to know when I will get my period? The other thing is I want to get pregnant right away. It might sound crazy but my husband and I want our children to be a year apart in school. So I have to get prego by November so baby #2 has birthday by school cut off which is September. I am thinking about buying an ovulation kit. Has any one tried them?

This may be TMI, but I have been bleeding for 7 weeks now, since I gave birth. And I wouldn't bother with ovulation kits at this point. You are, I believe, really fertile right now. Good for you for having a plan, and good luck to you!

When you get your period is all going to depend on you and your body. Some women get there period while they are still Breastfeeding, I did not. I have never used an ovulation kit, but you might want to use it till you get a few periods, after that you should know when you are ovulating between periods.

my three are about 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 years apart didnt plan it but it happened. my second was born sept 23 and yes did miss the school cut off, kinda sucks b/c the older one goes to kindergarten. But she does get more time w the baby as the older one got w/ her. It is a bit rough but i also got lucky w/ babysitting step- daughters.

You don't need an ovulation kit. However, if you're dead set on getting pregnant, you should probably try to have at least 3 regular periods before you try for another. That way, you'll know your fertile days (which is 2 days 2 weeks before the start of your period... you can get fertility charts online). That's how I had my daughter. It took us one try to conceive because I knew the right days.

I hope you know what you're getting into with two kids that small. It's HARD. As it is, I have an almost 3 year old and an 8 week old and I sometimes get VERY frustrated.

Hey i found that it takes a couple weeks after you stop breast feeding and dry up to start ur period again. Ovulation testers are good. Myself and my 2 sisters in law used one called a "Maybe baby Tester " and we all got pregnant pretty quick. If you want to get pregnant asap then i'd use an ovulation tester as you will ovulate 14 days before you get your period which could meen your ovulating now if your milk is dried up. Hope it helps and good luck
