Gallbladder attack = low fat diet =(

Well, as the title states, I ended up in the ER tonight for what was believed to be a gallbladder attack (about 80-90% sure at this point.) I have an U/S on Monday to check and see if I have any blockage/stones/etc, and until then, I've been put on a low fat diet just in case.

Obviously I'm a first-timer to this low fat stuff, so I was was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for low fat meals, snacks, etc etc. I've still gotta cook and such for my husband and daughter, so it's not just for me =/ Any help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance ladies!

Wow, sorry to hear that, I had that problem about 1 month before my 1st sons pregnancy.....My food of choice was Special K-strawberry....there wasnt much of anything else that didnt make me hurt!! So cereal and flavored water became my diet for about 2 weeks....saw your other post about the surgery, good luck with that, hope everything works out okay!

I feel your pain- I suffered with gallbladder attacks & also ended up in the ER after my first attack. What worked for me was a variety of foods, sweet, salty, savory etc. I went to the grocery store & looked on all the labels & to my surprise there were many things out there. I found that fig newtons only have 1 gm of fat for 2 cookies - my sweet & that rice crackers had 2 gms of fat for 15 crackers - my salty. Then there were breaded chicken fingers with less then 5 gms of fat & stuffed chicken breasts too. I had a lot of english muffins with low fat turkey breast, mustard & lots of soup - chicken broth with noodles mostly.

Hang in there - I know it's hard - especially at first but attacks are far worse & there can be complications Your family & you will be eating healthier then ever - that's the silver lining. Good luck!
