My 7 month old is startled by EVERYTHING, is this normal?

My 7 month old is scared of any object that makes the smallest noise. She will hear it then CLose her eyes and jump, like she never even knew it was there. i find this odd because she has an almost three year old sister who is NOT quiet, ever. So its not like she is not used to noise. I am just wondering if there could be something wrong or if anyone else has gone through the same thing?

Understanding Your Child's Sensory Signals: A Practical Daily Use Handbook for Parents and Teachers by Angie Voss - this is a really good handbook for sensory issues not just for autistic children. she also has a wonderful website with lots of tools! good luck, i would talk with an ENT specialist too just to cover all bases!

My baby is very sensitive to noises too, esp compared to her fearless sister! She also has very sensitive hearing! When they were doing the tests, when theyre born, she scored off the charts in her hearing! She doesnt like my friends who have a higher pitched voice and screams when they hold her or talk to close to her! If her sister gets to excited and squeals/screams bc of it, she will start crying...
