Thanx,
We are on the zantac for the reflux and gaviscon, using colief drops and infacol for the colic. DJ is at 11 weeks now, hoping he will grow out of it all by 3 months but I'm not getting my hopes up!
It's enough to put you off having any more kids!! ;-)

Babies magic tea is the only cure that worked for my colicky baby. He also had bad symptoms of acid reflux and this problem was also solved.

We use Gripe Water for colic and fussiness, but I don't know if it works for reflux. I think most babies spit up, ask your doctor if you are concerned.

LOL...yeah, I was sad at first that I had my tubes tied but now dealing with Jett I am happy I did it. He's screaming his head of at this moment as I type. There is just nothing you can do for them sometimes but let them cry :(

lol...I feel ur pain! I tried everything. Gripe water, gas drops, chamomile tea, etc. I don't know if it's just coincidence or not but I tried something called Onion Tea. Jett's almost at the 3 mo mark and they say colic ends around 3 mos. But I made only 2 4oz bottles of Onion Tea for him and he is back to being a normal baby now. All u do is cut up a half of a small onion and boil it in tea (no sugar) and then add a little Karo Syrup to it. When u pour it in the bottle put the chunks of onion in it, too. It smells nasty and looks nasty but Jett liked it. Try this, I think it worked for me. The acid reflux mixed with it doesn't make things any easier either. Jett has been taking prevacid for it. It's a pill u cut in half and dissolve it in a tablespoon of water. So far so good. He still spits up like the exorcist but I don't think anything will help there. Hope I have helped.

Oh and I forgot to mention that our pediatrician told us that a baby's peek with colic is at the age of 6 weeks, this could last till they are 3 months.

My middle child had both and I so feel for you! It's not easy trying to deal with a baby with just one of those things but to have both. She was on liquid zantac for the GERD but the colic we were on our own. My new baby has had a slight case of reflux and we still use the Gripewater, we get it at Walgreen's for about $11.00 a bottle. It's easy to use and it wouldn't hurt your baby to try it. I hope it helps it's been awesome for us. Also try a boppi pillow after you get the baby to burp, We started elevating Sahara and she seems to keep it down much better.

My son has reflux and is on meds for that. At the last dr. appt the doctor wanted to try something for colic (although, I really dont think that's what it is), but it totally knocked him out! He said not to use both, so we just went back to the Prevacid for reflux. I"m so sorry. I"ve heard before that colic is just major bad gas, so, gripe water might help. I know my dr. also said not to use mylicon with the prevacid.

My little boy Peter had colic from the day he was born, well..we didn't know what was wrong with him, with all the constant crying, which we found out was pain from pressure on his little belly. We massaged him, by doing the bicycle and burped him, which let out some of the wind that was in his body, but our pediatrician suggested Infacol Wind Drop and it has done the trick. Colic is a build-up of tiny little air bubbles that your baby inhales, everytime they drink, whether they are breastfed or bottle fed, infacol wind drops joins all the tiny air bubbles and forms bigger bubbles for your baby to release. :D

Check out Dr. Harvey Karp's book, "the happiest baby on the block" for how to fix so-called colic. It helped me know how to fix my baby's crying fits.

Gripe water didn't work too well for me, but a lot of my friends love it. I'm considering trying this stuff you can get through target.com called kids 0-9. All herbal stuff. Check it out :)

Emma has reflux and constipation and our pediatrician recommended Gripe Water - it's organic made by Baby Bliss or Little Tummies. Works great! No more crying through burps, farts, pooping, and hiccups. It totally relaxes Emma and it's easier for her to deal with gas- may want to give it a try mixed with a little water or juice to dilute it!
