I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for some out door play for my 5 month old daughter? We go on walks and she loves that. I also walk her around the yard and show her different things, but other than that I have no ideas and with the weather becoming nicer I would like to do some stuff outdoors with her. Any suggestions would be greatly appricated.

Just got a book called "Baby Games" from the library, and it has a few ideas. One is to have a "picnic" (even if baby is not on solids yet you can still feed the baby, breast or bottle, outdoors). Another is to let them hold leaves, etc. to feel the textures.

I take my 6 month old to the park, I put her in the baby swing with a blanket to hold her up steady and swing her very gently.

I'm having the same problem, not knowing what to do with her outside lol. I bring her for walks, sit on the steps with her, walk around the yard showing her things....I know that when it's nicer, I will lay out a blanket and do belly time outside. We also are going to buy a tiny pool for her to play in (with me of course lol). I can't wait to bring her to the beach...I just know she'll love it. I think bringing the jumperoo out maybe, and her pack n play. Basically anything to get her outside. She loves it out there and gets really bored in the house now lol.

I think that sounds awesome. I wish the weather here were more conducive to outdoor play -- it's cold now and we even had a bit of snow/hail yesterday. Brr!
Babies like to feel new textures -- you could put your babies' bare hands or feet on grass, sand, leaves, etc. Also going to places with other kids is exciting for babies. They love watching other babies and kids at play.

I bought those soft puzzle mats, I set them outside and the him play on those. When my daughter was 6 months we brought her to park and put her in a pool she loved ( and still loves) the water

I have taken my 6 mth old to the park. I push her in the stroller and push her in the swing. Maybe when it gets even warmer, you can get a baby pool of any size. Just put a small amount of water and let her splash the water. The other things you have mentioned are great also. Take a pack n play outside and sit in the shade. I take my daughter's highchair out on our back patio. I take a chair and sit in front of her. She plays with her toys and I play with her.

We go to the park, my 5 month old is my fourth, so he loves watching what our older 3 do. He also enjoys the baby swing if only for a moment. We like parks with small slides, He enjoys that too.

We have put up a big shadecloth type thing that Xander and I go under most days and we have play time (old tummy time) with him laying down with his toys on a huge blanket. We also have a bird bath so we watch the birds there and also do painting outside in a highchair. I've just started up a little vegie garden so I put Xander in his swing & he can watch me or anything else he wants to look at :-)

Winter is approaching here in Australia, but in summer we had a little tiny wading pool under the shade cloth that he would go into too. Although he was only a couple of months old when we used that so he wasn't as aware of his surroundings as he is now.
