My 10 month old gags at every feeding!

Hi. Im hoping someone has gone through this and can tell me what experiences they have had.
My 10 month old baby will not eat anything with chunks in it. She will not eat small pieces of anything. She gags with any sort of food. Even smashed banannas! I dont know what to feed her anymore. I am tired of stage 2 baby jar food and tired of having to puree everything! I have talked to her doc about this and she thinks she might have a problem with her mouth reflex? That was no help because I still dont know what to feed her. I am a mother of 2 under 2 and on bedrest expecting baby number 3 so it has been hard for me to find things to feed her. She just started to pick up tiny finger foods like apple pieces, baby cookies but as soon as she tries to swallow there goes the gagging and sometimes vomiting. It scares me because it seems like she is choking on even tiny pieces of soft mushy food. Any one else gone through this that can tell me what types of foods or if this was just a phase? Please help...mommy going insane here:(

my son wouldnt do chunck baby food either. I have just recently (last few days) ben able to get him to take chunky baby food. I have had to add stage 2 veggies to any of the stage 3 chunky food making it easier to swallow. I have slowly been adding less and less stage 2 foods. hopefuly that helps get the process started. best of luck!

I personally haven't gone through this but my daughter hated baby food with chunks in it too she gagged so i started giving her real people food and she has done much better no gagging. Maybe make the chunks bigger so she will have to take a bite off the whatever your giving her instead of putting the whole thing in her mouth. I am not sure but good luck!

I feel so bad for you....I can't honestly say I've gone through that so I don't really know how you feel but reading your little story made me feel so bad for you. I have 3 kids, myself, and I know how hard that is to do when you're not on bedrest....
Have you tried giving her things that desolve or get soft or soggy? Like the Graduates little snack puffs...they desolve in baby's mouth. Wagon Wheels are really hard but once the she gets it wet it will start to desolve in her mouth biscuts, maybe?? Hae you thought about getting an infant feeder? You might talk to your doctor first but infant feeders are just like bottles but they have bigger holes in the nipple and you can feed the baby things like cereal and yogart....stuff like that...maybe even the baby foods. Like I said I would talk to your doctor first but I don't really see anything wrong with it. I used it for my kids and it really helps when you are like us...when my youngest was born, I had 3 kids ages 3 and's hard! Sometimes you just need a little extra help, and the infant feeder helped me tons!
