Do you wear post-partum belly support?

There is a wifes tale that you should always wear a belly band or belt after having a baby to put everything back in place and get a flat tummy. I did it with my 2nd child. I didnt get a flat tummy but i never had a flat tummy. I think it did help a bit. I used the Madela. Is there another one that is better or that you have tried?

I never used one with my first who stretched me well and truely and it took a long time for my body to return to shape. One month ago I had my 2nd who was almost 10lbs and i am using the Belly Bandit, and i can say i see a difference. I don't find it cheating as it also helps support your back while your stomach muscles are weak having been separated. As you said, it can't hurt :)

My Dr. told me to get a Belly Bandit, but I did not want to pay that price for one, Walmart sells one by Golds Gym for $5. The Dr. said when you have a Csec. it is really better for you to wear some form of support for your back and you wont have that empty feeling in the front either. but hey if it make my tummy flat faster I wont complain either lol

Thank you ladies for your reply. I guess it depends on the person... It won't hurt to do it.

I wore this belly bra with my second all through my pregnancy and I think it helped my skin not stretch during pregnancy. This time, since it was the summer I couldn't bare that extra layer and guess what- I got stretch marks:( It could be that I am 20 pounds heavier than delivery day with my last but I am definetly going to wear the support. I carried all in front and when you are petitie like me I, I fear I am going to have tons of extra skin etc to deal with after the fact. I also got those support panties but we'll see how it all plays out. There are good reviews for the belly bandit which is advertised by Kourtney Kardashian and sells at Sears.

With my first I did not wear anything and I went back to my pre-pregnancy weight in a matter of weeks by watching what I was eating and walking a lot.
I personally do not believe in those bands, I see them as a cheat and dont really work. (my opinion)
I know my local special bra shop sells those things in many different forms - just the band, a tank top, underwear, full body suit. But again I don't see how they will help ... you still need to watch what you eat and exercise
I would love to hear from others who have used it and have had success with them though ...
