I am about 23 weeks pregnant, expecting my first child. Recently I have been feeling pressure in my lower area and it is very uncomforable. I first thought that I needed to pee but then I go and try nothing comes out. It kind of feels like there is a lot of water in there and it is wanting to come out.... what's going on?! Then I also have slight pain on and off.. is that normal too?

I am 23 weeks pregnant with my second and I have had that issue sine I was about 4 months. With my first it didn't hit me until I was about 6 or 7 months. It's quite uncomfortable I know. I just had an appointment today. The doctor said it's a combo of a few things. The pulling of the ligaments surrounding your uterus and pelvic area, your nerve saddle, and your joints being looser than usual. He did tell me that sometimes an adjustment from a chiropractor gives relief but it's only temporary. The feeling can also get better and then all of the sudden come back with force. It's just one of those things that NOBODY tells you and you don't read in those pregnancy books. I equate the feeling to being kicked in the crotch by a mule or an NFL kicker LOL. Try not to sit for long periods of time in a chair where you can't put your feet up and get some of the pressure off your "area". I find that if I'm at the table or the computer for too long the pain is worse.

I am 23 weeks as of yesterday and I have been feeling pressure in my lower front area. I have also had pains off and on and cramping. My dr said that everything is fine, that when you are going thru this huge change you will feel pain from all the stretching and changing. The cramping on the other hand lol can be constipation, one lovely side efffect of pregnancy! As for the pressure, you can feel pressure in your lower front, you can feel at times like your pelvis bone wants to "crack" you can have pain in your lower back or your siatic nerve can really pain you. That is all depending on where the baby is located. Like I just had that pressure feeling but now that has gotten better but now I feel pain in my left ribs, cus the baby is kicking me a bunch there.

So pain will come and go, if you have any questions or concerns you can always call your dr. they encourage that. Heat packs are also very helpful, some grocery stores sell them like fred meyers. Some are also aromatheropy, I have one that smells like fruite loops lol. You just stick it in the microwave from 30 sec to a min and its ready to go. Also warm showers or baths are nice as well.

Take care, and feel better!

I'm 21 weeks with second baby and I'm having the same problem it feel so bad and uncomfortable. It's probably a baby weight that pushing down and I don't see any concern about this.

The best way for you to know if what your feeling is normal is to ask your health care provider :) But I have felt alot of pelvic pressure in the last 6 weeks (i am 34 weeks now) and my OB said it is normal as the baby puts on alot of weight in a little amount of time in your last trimester and is heavier in your uterus. As long as the pressure is not accompanied by consistent contractions (not braxton hicks) or a change in vaginal discharge (leaking amniotic fluid) than it is completely normal. Don't worry I am sure you are experiencing something completely normal but check with your Dr. to be 100%, Like Jen G said us women get to experience a whole lot of different aches and pains during pregnancy because of the change in our bodies so they are most likely normal as well :) Congratulations and I hope you feel better!

Hey this is my 2# and i've had this feeling really bad since day one i'm 23 weeks also and my doctor said its most likely the stretching but it also could be a prolaps which is where parts of your lady bits drop down that shouldn't. Its more common in women who've already had children. Especially if you have large babies.I have to get mine checked once bubs born but its probably just the stretching.
