Hi guys,

I'm 23 weeks pregnant with my second child. I was lucky enough not to experience morning sickness at all in my first pregnancy, but feel like i'm making up for it in this one. I'm vomiting every day still and have a very poor appetite and constantly feel exhausted and nauseous.

Its most difficult to handle on the days i'm working as i start at 7am and cant eat breakfast (when i do i throw it up) so have no energy untill morning tea at least.

I dont want to take medication for it as i already am on enough meds for other conditions, so would like any advice you can give me on coping with this or easing it in a drug free way please...?

Thanks Ladies :)

I am 33 weeks and I am the same way. I tried everything at first. Saltines made me gag ginger ale made me gag...everything came up. I only ate once a day and if I was lucky I would keep that down...most of the time however, it wouldnt. I have lost over 33 pounds since I got prego...im just now starting to gain it back, but its only the baby growing its not real weight. I am ok with that though. I had to get on meds to help it. I am on Zopfran and its very very genital. If it were not for that I dont know what I would have done. Some days it still doesnt work or if im late on getting it refiled, but it is really the only thing that helped at all.

With both of my pregnancies, nausea killed me. With my second it was worse than my first and it lasted 8 weeks. Anyway, I luckily found a remedy that eased me from this killing sickness. It was No to morning sickness tea. It's a worth trying. Good luck!

I was very sick with my 1st and even more sick with my 2nd. I totally understand how you feel. I lost so much weight that I had a nurse come to my home to give me IV fluids and medication through a pump that was attached to my stomach. I know you said you dont want to take anymore medication, but if your losing weight and your baby might be in danger the medication is your best bet. You really dont want to be admitted to the hospital on bed rest. Seriuosly that was my only option and i was scared to death. I have a 2 year old, and no one to take care of her. The medication will help.
Good Luck, talk to your OB and see what they recommend. But remeber your health and your baby's has to come 1st!

I am so sorry you are going through this . I am right about 29 weeks and was put on meds for it in my second trimester , and meds changed just a week ago because I am losing weight and can't keep stuff down .
I tried all the alternatives . Nothing worked . Ginger was the closest to working , however it seemed as long as I had it and was eating it I was fine. once I stopped eating it with in minutes I was praying to the trash can . My daily throw up time seems to be 11pm almost every night.
Something that has helped more ... If I cut out greasy , or heavy foods it is more gentle on my belly . I also have to watch out for heavily seasoned foods or overly sugary foods . Sometimes icecream will help . Eating smaller amounts more often through out the day too such as breaking up your meals by eating part now , part a little later .
Good luck ! I know it sucks as mine has been in overdrive since I hit my second trimester and got worse right before I hit my 3rd .

I know what you mean and I'd love to say it'll pass but mine didn't until the end of my second trimester and now she pushes on my stomache the wrong way and I get sick again. There really is no miracle cure just throw up and go on with your day. I know it sounds crude but sometimes thats what you have to do. I tried crackers and all that but it made it worse. Also if I didn't eat breakfast I got sick and if I did, I got sick. Just try to find foods that dont make you as sick, or sick at all and eat ice cream around the time you do get sick and it'll make a world of difference. Also dont eat too much or have too much in your mouth at once, thats how I get sick and if your like me you might get sick too.

tey say ginger, any kind of mint, saltine crackers they also say that in the morning wake up 30 mins. before you get out of bed and have crackers and gingerale or water on your nigtstand and snack on that for 30 mins before you get up, that way your getting something light in your system before you get up and walk around and that should help in the morning if your having it throughout the day, there's these things called preggie pops there fruity flavored kind of like candy suckers they have oils in them that are supposed to help nausea. good luck!
