It's possible that you are farther along than would be indicated by your menstrual cycle. The only for sure way to know would be to get an ultrasound. They can measure the length and what not. Although, at 28 weeks I would imagine that you would have had one already.

the baby could just be growing very quickly also. Have you done your test for gestational diabetes yet? I know that a complication of GD is having a large baby. I am NOT saying that you have that. Only a medical professional who has conducted a glucose tolerance test and drawn blood can make that diagnoses.

Really, if this is concerning you, jot down what you are thinking and call your midwife. She is there to get you and your baby through this pregnancy in the healthiest way possible. If she can't answer your questions in what you feel is a reasonable time frame (I would give her 24 hours) then call another professional. A second opinion is not a bad thing when the goal is for you and your child to be healthy.

I hope this hasn't completely freaked you out. I just wanted you to know that while we are here for support and can answer some questions, we can only help so much. I hope you get the information you need. Good luck.

I had a pill abortion 12/12/12 I was 7.5 weeks at the time of the abortion. I did bleed and blood clots were discharged.. I had unprotected sex a week later after I was done bleeding. I thought I was 20 weeks at the time of the ultrasound. A month later doctor told me I was 7weeks further along. Is that possible? She also stated Im carrying a big baby. I'm stressing. Can anyone help??

I am 16 weeks measuring at 21 weeks. The U/S has proven that the baby is on track for being 16 weeks, there is just an excess of fluid. My doc isn't worried about the difference in measurements, he just said he'll order another U/S in about 10 weeks to verify I'm still on track. Soo excited to find out if its a boy/girl

Yeh i have had that response right through my pregnancy but i am measuring the other way smaller. So i am 36 weeks but measuring at 31 weeks. docs and midwifes say its because my baby is very low and engaged, so she appears smaller. ive had scans to check baby because we were worried but everything is fine. Maybe you r carrying high, or baby has had a big growth spurt ova that mth. Scans should show anythen if u worried!

im healthy otherwise and i had my blood test again at 28weeks so i surpose they will test it but i hope i dont have gd as diabetes runs through my family. i surpose all i can do is wait. and it wasnt my usual midwife i saw it was 2 different ones taking over and the one who measured me was getting back into it so she was practising on patients so i surpose there is a possibilty it could have been the way she measured me only time will tell i surpose and thank you all very much the infomation was very useful x

I was exactly the same. I also measured furthur along that what i actually was. But 1 time, i saw a different midwife because mine was off sick and she measured me exactly how far along i was. And when i next saw my midwife she said it could be the way we measure because some midwives measure differently. I wasnt concerned. My baby girl was 11 days late and weighed 9lb. I suppose it also depends on how much amniotic fluid there is as well. If your concerned, speak to your midwife.

I had the same thing, just I was 22 weeks and mesured at 32 weeks. I'm 4.4 feet around my belly. It depends on how big your baby is, etc :) So you're probably only 28 weeks. Just take it easy and don't stress too much!

Are you healthy otherwise? I imagine you also had GD test a few weeks ago and know the reasults. If your midwife didn't see any problem with you measuring 34 weeks I wouldn't worry. I was measuring at 32 weeks at my 28 week appt and the baby had grown from following an average growth to exploding in size lol. My Dr said that would be normal for me since my first was a large baby as well. Good Luck with the rest of your pregnancy.
