2weeks away from 3rd trimester and not gaining weight ???

Ok so I'm 25wks today and have only gained a total of 6lbs. Those were gained over the last 2 months only. My doc is the health department doc since I lost my job right before finding out we where expecting and she's not saying anything about my weight or what I should be gaining.

I'm just wondering if my weight gain is fine? She's doing perfect as of my u/s last week and measuring right on track give or take a day or two. How much have you gained or gained before if this is not your first? (only if you want to share)

So glad I found this group as I've been freaking out. My friends friend just told me that she gained 65lbs with her son and my other friends gained around 30lbs. I started out at a size 0 and can still wear my prepreg pants (top went from XXS to now L because of the 36D's from a 34C). I did buy a pair of motherhood jeans just because they didn't have a button for when I sat down but the S is large enough that I have to use my mat belt to hold them up.

Thanks ladies!

Every person and pregnancy is different. Im currently 28wks with my 3rd. I have gained 20lbs. I gained 50lbs with my first but was on bedrest for 6wks. My 2nd I gained like 20. But like I said every person and pregnancy is different. if the baby is healthy and u are feeling fine I am sure everything will be great.

I started out a size 10 with my first but I lost 8 lbs in my first trimester then gained 60 lol. With my second, I started out a size 14 then lost 16 lbs by the beginning of my 3rd trimester then gained about 12 of it back by the end of the pregnancy. Both healthy, happy kids weighing in at about 7 1/2 lbs. But I think when you start off petite, I think they like you to gain about 30 lbs but alot of women don't gain it until the third trimester.

i have only gained 2lbs so far and i am 26 weeks! but i wasn't skinny to begin with so a lower amount of weight gain is healthier for me! if your doctor isn't worried i wouldn't be worried too much about it! as long as you are eating right and the baby appears to be developing right its fine! and if you are skinny more than likely your baby will be smaller as well (she'll probably be skinny like you!)

Did you have bad morning sickness? One thing to consider is that some wowmen are so queasy in the first and even into the second trimester that they don't gain much weight in the beginning. If you are at 6 lbs of weight gain at 25 weeks, and it's ony for the last two months, you're doing ok. Make sure that you are eating whole foods that are well rounded with all the nutrients you need and that you are tkaing prenatals, or at least floic acid. As long as you are satisfying your hunger and getting a balanced diet, your weight gain can fluctuate.

My mom only gained 8 to 12 pounds with my brother. He came out healthy as a horse.

I have been really small the whole time. I have gained 20 lbs total so far and I actually lost 4 lbs last time I was at the doctor and I started out at an average/underweight level, so I should be gaining 30 according to what most people say, but the doctor isn't concerned at all because the baby is still growing and she says that I am "all baby" and no other weight, so it really just depends on how you are carrying it. If the doctor says you are doing ok then I wouldn't worry too much! I am 35 weeks!

Hey, I am 22 weeks along and so far I haven't gained any weight whatsoever... Within the first couple of months I actually lost 10 kilograms and since then I haven't put any back on. I am starting to get worried but my doctor seems to think everything is fine =D

Everyone is different... with my first pregnacy i gained 28lbs total. But with my second I've gained 14 lbs so far with 2 weeks to go. And I've eaten more and not exercised as much. So as long as you are eating healthy and the baby is fine, then you are doing great.

Ok, I've had the same questions. With my son (nearly 10) I gained 70 pounds but was drastically underweight at conception and on bedrest for the majority of the pregnancy. With my daughter (now 8) I only gained 12 pounds and was so sick the entire pregnancy but my doc then never seemed to care. He just kept telling me the baby would get what she needed and it would just be me who suffered. Now this pregnancy I haven't been sick the whole time but have only gained 9 pounds total with only a pound going on in the past month. I saw my doc two days ago and he said everything was good. I am 25 wks today as well. What I realized is in the final month the baby gains at least a pound a wk which typically causes about the same amount of weight to go on mom as well ... so if you figure that to my current weight gain that is 13 pounds ... and I still have a total of about 3.5 mos left to gain more too. He's prolly figuring that I will top out right around the recommended 25 pounds marker. If you are of a healthy weight prior to conception then you should gain between 25 and 30 pounds with your pregnancy. If your doc isn't concerned at this point then don't be either ... at least you aren't losing weight (I was losing weight until 2 mos ago w/o trying and that was scary for me and the doc). I'm still wearing my pre-conception pants as well and only buying tops (went from S to L due to breasts jumping outta my comfort zone ... lol) to help cover the belly. If your baby is developing fine then don't stress out over the weight. Some women are just blessed to carry pregnancy well while others struggle. I've struggled til now ... and am just loving my abilities with this one!! Good Luck in everything!

The little bit of weight is fine! I only gained 9lbs with my 3rd pregnancy. As long as you are eating good and staying healthy, then dont worry!
