I am 32 weeks and today i got really bad lower back pain, slightly above my hips. it hurts to sit, bend, stand do anything. Any suggestion what could be the cause and how to alleviate the pain? i work full time on my feet constantly and got a 3 and a half year old and am in a lot of pain and discomfort. any help would be appreciated

I agree a nice swim also kneel down in front of your couch of a chair and lean forward and rest your arms on a pillow have your partner (or your three year old) rub your back (this helped me with lower back pain. Just hang in there only about a month left!

I am only 23 weeks along and the same thing is happening to me. I am unable to get comfortable when I sleep, bending over and then bending back up is so painful and sometimes walking even hurts!
Swimming actually sounds incredible. You could invest in one of those microwavable therapeutic pillows, I have one and they feel great on the lower back.

well you are getting closer to the end YAY! and your baby is moving lower down into your hips and birth conal and that could be a good deal of the pain you are feeling your baby might have been head down now for awhile but that doesn mean they were down ready for the birth yet and that might be happening now... a nice swim if you have an indoor pool would help or a nice warm bath would help also but ifyou start to feel alot of presure then a hospital visit would be good just to make sure good luck

I feel your pain literally! It sounds like you might be experiencing siatic nerve pain which as unfortunate as it is there is not much you can do to help it but rest and relax and get off your feet. My pain got so bad I couldn't walk at points or sit. My doctor put me on light duty for work as i was on my feet 8 hrs each day now i cant do more than 4 and I still feel it from time to time. You can take tylenol if your doctor said its ok sometimes a heat pad can help or cold. also make sure you sleep on the oppisite you have pain. there are stretches that can help as well. just think its almost over.

With my third baby I worked on my feet (bartender) all night and had the most horrible pain in my back/hips. I coulndn't walk/sit/lay down without pain. The only thing that alleviated the pain was swimming and sitting on a yoga ball. I had to quit work at 38 weeks and once I was sitting on a yoga ball all day and night instead of on my feet the pain totally went away. I wish I had stopped working earlier. I was definitely on my feet too much. Good Luck.
