6 going on 7 weeks, but what if it's in my head?

On September 25th we learned I was pregnant. I have my first prenatal appointment on October 17th to be sure and hopefully see the embryo. This will be our first child, after ttc since June. We're keeping it quiet, which is really hard for me because one, I'm horrible at keeping secrets. The biggest secret I've been able to keep was the color of my wedding dress.

And two, I feel like I'm lying to people. I hate this feeling. But it's gotta be done. When it's confirmed on the 17th, I'm gonna tell my BFF, but everyone else ain't finding out until Christmas.

It's soooo hard because I need someone to talk to about what's going on, especially those who are expecting/have children. I just need to talk, ya know? Share my feelings, my fears, my doubts. All that. A journal doesn't talk back. Doesn't say, "Hey, that's normal! Don't freak!"

There are days when I have a TON of symptoms and days I have none. Those days make me a little nervous. Do the symptoms get more frequent as the pregnancy continues?

Another thing....I'm eager for the 17th to come. I want to know if I am indeed pregnant, or if it's all in my head. Which I will be CRUSHED if that's the case. Which is one of the reasons why I'm trying to not get super excited (but I can't help it). Is this doubt normal?

Until then, I'm still taking my prenatal vitamens, doing prenatal yoga, walking, swimming, and I've made major changes to my diet and all that. I'm preparing.

Thanks for reading and possibly replying, yall.

Where are you buying your pregnancy tests? Do you have a "Dollar Tree" store near you, or trust someone that does?

The last OTC pg test I used was from there - a friend uses them whenever she feels the need. The peace of mind is worth more than that $1!

it can all seem pretty surreal until you've had that first scan and actually seen the baby! With my first, I did about 4 or 5 home tests and then had it confirmed by the doctor with a blood test, and even then I was nervous when I went for my first scan, thinking "what if there is nothing there???" Of course there was, everything was fine, and I didn't get those feelings with my second. It is just such a strange feeling, getting used to the fact that you are actually going to be a mum, and have an actual life growing inside of you!

I am now 8 weeks and 5 days pregnant after 4 years of trying and 1 icsi attempt. Just like you I couldn't believe it. I did 5 OTC pregnancy tests just to make sure!! Then 6 weeks pregnant i was admitted to hospital with a ruptured ovarian cyst. since then i have been in hospital a further 2 times. I pray to god this pregnancy continues more happy and healthy than it started. I really want to relax and enjoy being pregnant but Im too scared. fingers crossed. I suppose when you want something so badly your bond to think about it all the time and feel a bit stressed. I hope your scan went well.

Thanks ladies, I feel so much better about this now. I think I really just needed an outlet for my thoughts. :-)

This is my second pregnancy and honestly I was pretty far along when I found out with the second one because I had NO symptoms. I don't have periods as I am currently nursing our first child (she just turned 8 months old today) this was unexpected but we're SOOO excited! I'm 12 weeks I found out by ultrasound when I was 10 weeks (I have cysts on my ovaries they were looking at and found a baby!) I know the feeling, especially with this one! Ever since I found out I don't feel pregnant (until this morning I woke up with a small baby bump!)
With my first I was exhausted, STARVING all the time, my sense of smell was CRAZY, I had no period, and was craving weird things! This one I can't smell a thing, I have more energy then ever, I'm hardly hungry take a few bites and I'm completely full! So don't worry! Just because you're not having any symptoms doesn't mean you're not pregnant! Or just because you have them some days and not others it's normal! Also, not every woman feels pregnant! I freaked out with my first because someone told me if you didn't "feel" pregnant you weren't pregnant so when I took the first pregnancy test with my first it came back positive but I didn't "feel" pregnant so I started freaking out and took 5 pregnancy tests! Hopefully this helps!

I did. When I called the doctors they said the tests were similar as the one I'd take there. I have been wanting to take another test, but my husband would rather not spend the $ on it. Only 6 more days, but trying to think positive thoughts. Thank you for your input. :)

I do know what you're feeling.
I'm guessing you used an OTC pg test in Sept. Have you considered using another just to calm your nerves?

I've been pregnant many times - with varying symptoms, varying levels of them and various results.

If it turns out you are not pregnant, continue with your exercise and diet changes. The more healthy you are before getting pregnant the better for you all.
