I'm only 16 weeks and tomorrow will be my third visit to the doctor this month because of high blood pressure. The highest it's been was 155/85. My doc put me on meds for it and I'm hoping it helps. I had high blood pressure during my first pregnancy, but nothing that they were this concerned about.

Were there things that you tried that helped to bring it down? It scares me that they're making such a big deal about it. Is everything gonna be okay?

Hi with My first pregnancy i had High blood pressure that started at 32 weeks and was in and out of hospital due to going from hight to fine as they could not medicat till it stayed high i was finaly 36 weeks when then put me on the meds and it was fine for the last few weeks but they would not let me go over my due date so was induced a couple days after as i was due on a friday and they did not want to do it over the weekend. I ended up having a very healthy 6lb 13 baby girl i think the meds kept her small but im not complaining i had to leave work early and was told to do everything Klarissa has sugested as well as take omaga 3 fish oil pills as they are suppose to help with bp.
Im 23 weeks pg again and hoping it dont come back this time but am not holding my breath as my sister had it with all three of her pregnancys.

hi my name is ashley and i am on my 4th pregnancy i have had high blood pressure with all 3 of my children, but with this pregnancy i went into it having hypertension, this is very new to me, but with my other 3 girls my blood pressure has been as high as 165 over 119 due to this i had to have inuctions with all 3 of my girls, but they were born healthy and happy. there are a few things you can do to help keep your blood pressure low the first and most important is your stress level, and also the food you eat , red meats breads and salty food is a very big problem, also the farther along you get and the worse your blood pressure becomes they might put you on medication or bed rest i take a blood pressure medication that is very safe, but was informed the more pregnant i become the higher my blood pressure will get and the higher the dosage and amount will become... i hope this was somewhat helpful

Thanks ladies! You were both very encouraging and Jennel, it's very comforting to know that everything still ended up okay and you had a healthy baby. That's my biggest concern. Last week the doctor put me on a very low dosage of a blood pressure pill and I went in today and it's completely back to normal! Yay! They still want me to come back every couple of weeks to monitor it for awhile, but it was still such a relief to hear "120/70". Best of luck to both of you throughout the rest of your pregnancy! ♥

Teresa,

I am at 24 weeks and I was diagnosed with high blood pressure prior to being pregnant, the things I would suggest are walking, trying to cut down on salt, or not have salt at all,  and also just trying to stay low stressed. Everything will be alright, i would also talk to your doctor to see if they have any other suggestions for you, it is possible that they could put you on medication if it gets too high. That is what my doctor told me and currently right now they are just monitoring it.
