Hi there, I'm 19 weeks pregnant with my first child and my boobs seem to be going crazy! I was a 32C when we concieved and I'm already overflowing a 34D. I was quite a petite girl at 5'3" and 100lbs before getting pregnant so that area wasn't very big either. But they seem to be a bit large at this stage of the pregnancy and already feeling quite heavy. Am I the only one growing this large this fast? How much more are they going to grow??

I feel like a freak of nature and that I am torn from the pages of National Geographic. I was a 36 DD before I got pregnant, and now at 30 weeks, I am wearing a 38 H, the largest I can find in any store, and I am beginning to outgrow that! I have NO IDEA how much larger they are supposed to get when my milk comes in but I imagine I am going to feel like a dairy cow when it does. Anyone know where to get bras 38-40 I range?

I would love to have a large full B forever pregnant or not. One thing I learned with maternity bras is due to the very soft cotton (hence soo comfy, agreed) they stretch easily so I do not think they are very supportive...which is the exact opposite of what we need...UG! It is amazing all the silly little details there are to pregnancy.

I'm glad to read these replies, they make me feel a little less like a freak...but all of you ladies say that your extreme growth happened very late in your pregnancies...I'm only 11 weeks into my first pregnancy and have already grown at least two cup sizes...I'm 5'7 and weighed 124 lbs before with a 34 d bra...and now weigh 129 having trouble squeezing into my normal size...all my bras have become uncomfortable to wear. i don't have a belly, and I'm not a larger woman, so I'm not sure if it is normal for me to be growing so much so fast. i just take comfort in the fact that every pregnancy is different and all of you ladies seem to share similar stories!

I was a 34 C/D before I got pregnant with my first, I went up at least 2-3 sizes, and was bigger than a DD the last few months, and during breastfeeding. They ended up at a 36D once my milk dried up, however I had gained a bit of weight. As I loose weight I seem to be getting a little back to normal.

From my experience for nursing, you *could* be up to one cup size larger than before your milk fully comes in, and after expressing all the milk you could differ between 1 full cup size. I was told to get a nursing bra before having the baby, however one was more than enough as they *might* get bigger than you expect depending on how much milk you hold.

I think I did have a growth at about 20 weeks, then it slowed down a little bit until the end when my milk started to come in more.

The first thing to start growing when you get pregnant is your boobs. My husband (of course) noticed them and that was before I was even beginning to show. I've only gone up one cup size so far, but my bra is starting to get tight. I'm shopping for nursing bras soon so I'm trying to hang in there. If you haven't already, invest in a decent cotton sports bra to help out at night. I was so sore that I couldn't even lay on my side. And they do get heavier as you get closer to delivery. Good times!

Hi Janis. I got the maternity bras because I am too early for nursing bras..chances are I''ll grow AGAIN! sigh! But they do have nursing bras as well. Oh and let me tell ya, I love their boy cut underwear. I'll be wearing those after pregnancy as well.

Quoting Kathryn:

I bought a few from Thyme Maternity (Cananda) and they are awesome. So supportive and last. Not the prettiest things...feel like I'm wearing my gramma's bra but they are doing the trick. They were a bit pricie...$45. but if you buy one the 2nd was half off.

Are they breastfeeding of just maternity bras?

argh! The things we women go through! I was sitting on the couch the other night and my boob fell out of my bra!!! As a small chested person that NEVER happened to me before!!! I had to go and by maternity bras the other day. UGLY, but man they are more comfy! I've gone for a small 36B to a very full 36C!!!! My husband loves it.

OMG! I feel bad for anyone that has to go through this. I am 31 weeks 4 days and I am not sure how big I am anymore, I think 38 DD-F. I was also a 32-34C when I became preggers...I remember before I found out that my breasts hurt soo much! My boyfriend tried to touch them once and I winced away..he asked what was wrong and I just thought I was having some strange PMS and I hardly ever experience PMS. HAHA! Anyway as you can tell I am much larger now! For the first two trimesters it was like every other week they became super sore and they just kept growing! I swear my belly and boobs were in a race for a while as to which could get bigger faster. I was voting for my belly of course wanting to look pregnant not fat. I started buying nursing bras, in hopes that way I would not have to buy more once I delivered. Now in the third Trimester they (cross my fingers) seem to have stopped getting larger, my belly seems to have won the race... but I know when the milk comes in geez! It still makes me a little angry when I see other pregnant woman and they have tiny boobs. There is no way to tell how much they will grow, but just make sure you provide proper support for them, to avoid stretch marks and sagging. JC Penny's maternity dept. has some nice cammies with a built in bra to sleep in so you do not have to wear an actual bra at night. I wish you the best of luck with everything!

Thank you so much for starting this conversation. I thought I was the only one with this problem! I am 16 weeks, and I am ready for my belly to catch up with my boobs! I was a 32B, and now I am in a D. Thank you all so much for letting me know I am not the only one!

Oh no hunny your not the only one. I was tiny when I got pregnant with my first baby. My chest size was even small, I was a 32B, man how I miss those days.LOL Anyways by the time I hit my 4-5month I was a 36D by the time I had my daughter I was a 38DD. After I started loosing the weight I had gone down to a 36D and now being pregnant with my second one I am back up to a 38DD.. I am dreaming for the day when I can at least be a small D.

Elizabeth,

I feel your pain also, I was a DD before I got pregnant and now I am an H, and I am only 4"11, I am hoping at this point that they are going to stop growing, but I am sure with nursing that might not be the case, I am not sure how much more they are going to grow, and I am currently at 27 weeks.

I have the same thing happen when I get pregnant...it was worse with my first. I went from a large C to a DD. I stayed that big when I was nursing...and then once I stopped I went to a D. I am pregnant with my second right now and am in a DD. I am praying they don't get even bigger when the milk comes in. It was definitely worse the first time around though - they hurt more, had discoloration, and grew at rapid speed. I had gone all the way to a DD by 17 weeks with my first so you seem to have the same trouble I had. I am only 5'4" so I feel your pain :)
