Can allergies come back during pregnancy?

When I was younger like 3 y/o - 14 y/o I used to have a horrible allergy to cats(only cats, no other animals have bothered me yet) It went away and my doctor explained it as just growing out of the allergy since my body had probably changed.

When I moved in with my boyfriend at 16 y/o we got a cat and I had no problems. He slept with us, the whole nine yards. Unfortunately we had to put him down in Jan 2010 due to cancer and in Oct 2010 we got 2 new kittens.

Just recently I have been waking up every morning with puffy and watering eyes, and sneezing like no tomorrow. Could this be my allergies coming back up? Will this baby have allergies then?

Hmm interesting. Like I mentioned, my allergy did not come back in my first pregnancy only this one.

Oh well, we will see. My husband doesn't have any allergies either so hopefully this bub doesn't.

I only have allergies when pregnant. Then they go away after I give birth. My daughter is 19 months and hasn't shown a single allergy symptom. That doesn't mean that genetics don't play a role, so that may cause the child to have allergies.
