Cytotec Used For Induction?! Help Please!!

Cervidil was used when I was induced with my daughter 3 years ago, but my new doctor is wanting to used Cytotec to induce labor on me in a couple weeks. I had to use the Cytotec last year to end a twin pregnancy after a round of fertility treatments were unsuccessful and after that experience and reading some research online I'm scared to death for it to be used on me! Anyone been induced with the Cytotec that can offer some advice?! I would rather use the Cervidil (it worked fine for me) but it seems like my doctor wants the Cytotec to be used. Help please!!

Your doctor cannot perform any medical procedure that you do not approve of. Most likely the Cytotec is more convenient for him to use, but that does not mean it's the best thing for you! I would flat-out tell my doctor no, and not let them bully me. Doctors like this are used to patients not sticking up for themselves. There is no reason Cytotec needs to be used, as there are several other effective and much more safe ways to induce labor. Good luck!

I have never had an induction so I don't know anything about the drug part of your question. But I would definitely talk to your doctor about your concerns and let her know your preference. See if there are reasons she prefers the other over the one you have used succesfully prior. If they are a good doctor they will listen to, address your concerns, and make changes to "their" plan. All mothers should be comfortable with their birthing plans and if you aren't your doctor should adapt to your needs and concerns, not the other way around...
