My husband and I have been discussing if we want to keep our son in daycare or not while I am at home with the new baby. I think it would be better to pull him out and save the money but he thinks that I will get really tired and frustrated with it because he is going to need to pick up a second job to make up for my lack of income. My son will be 3 1/2 be the time the baby is here and I do have a lot of family support. My mom works evenings so she is avaliable to help during the day as well as my step-mom and dad are avaliable in the evenings.
Thoughts?

If you can afford it then leave him in! It will give you some time to bond with bubba :-)

P/T or F/T status at my daycare is classified as how many days they go, not by half or full days. I know he loves going and it would be a big help. Hmmm

Half days would be ok but where I live you pay for the whole day so I think 1 or 2full days would be better. I have actually been thinking about this too my son will be 22mos when #2 is born and I wouldn't mind keeping him in daycare even for one day but it will cost around 60$ and don't know wether we will be able to afford it. Free playgroups and playdates might be more economical but I guess the choice is yours. Being able to get some housework done and having some sleep would be nice :-)

My Girls went down to half days when the baby was born and being able to catch a few zzz's before picking them up while little man napped was heaven on earth! and half days for a 3 and half year old should save you some money and a little bit of sanity bored 3 and half year old get into trouble! (now that school is out for my two I'm going a little crazy)

Maybe you could send him to daycare for half days - so you don't get too over whelmed and he still benefits from being in daycare and spending time with you. My son will be starting pre-school for half days when he is 3 (he is only 19 months at the moment).
