Discipline without Spanking

I'm often asked by parents about my view on spanking. I generally reply well "Parents
are more prone to use spanking when they haven’t had any time to themselves and they feel tired and hurried. So, it is important for
parents to take some time for themselves to exercise, read, take a walk or pray". What are your views on Spanking?

my view only in extreme measures.....and also depends on a child some children you can just take things away from them and they get the point....and sometimes you have to spank your children... but i am not saying to spank your child everytime they do something...

We don't spank in our house, there is often a bit of yelling but no spanking lol, our little boy isn't perfect and can sometimes do things his not supposed to do but if we don't talk to him and tell him what his done wrong and tell him why his not allowed to do it then his never going to learn and spanking him is not going to teach him anything constructive except that it's ok to hit. Our son is a happy friendly outgoing little boy who doesn't hit other kids and shares really well, on the other hand my friends son who gets hit every 5 minutes is aggressive towards other kids and hurts them and can't share at all, so I think how you disapline your children effects there personality in the long run.

My view is that if I don't want someone to hit me why would I hit my child.
