I just found out on the 13th that I'm expecting #3. Due about April 14-20th. (Odd cycle prevent me from knowing for certain just yet.) I have 2 big boys right now (ages 7 and 9), so, I'm hoping to have a girl. Even better if it was twin girls. :) But it's awfully lonely being the only newly pregnant woman due in April, so very, very far away from now. :( Anyone else here?

Due April 21st and have been sick non-stop for four weeks already. :P It's absolutely miserable. My only good news is that the exhaustion has started to decrease (knock on wood). I was going to bed at 7pm with my 22 month old daughter. The problem with that of course was that when I got up in the morning I was really, really sick because I hadn't eaten in so long (such a catch-22). Things that have helped so far:
--acupuncture
--ginger tea, I sip it all night long like water
--crackers before getting out of bed
--eating eggs (protein) first thing in the morning
--eating constantly (this is SO exhausting. I hate coming up with things to eat this time around because 1) I have to do it so often 2) I have food aversion to everything).

Nevertheless this pregnancy is much worse than the last one. I am much hungrier this time, I have more constant nausea and I crave ONLY watermelon, pineapple, peaches and grapes (NOT filling at all!). All other food turns my stomach but I make myself eat it anyway. I also find it much tougher to be pregnant and sick with a toddler in the house. I feel like I've become mean/crabby mommy.

My only prayer is that this will end after the first trimester like it did last time. Please, please.

I found out pretty late. I was 10 1/2 weeks when I found out but I'm due April 20th with our second. I had no morning sickness, no periods (I was still breast feeding my first she's 8 months old) I had energy, I wasn't hungry, my sense of smell wasn't heightened so I had no idea. I went in for an ultrasound on my ovarian cysts and he found a baby! lol....I'm excited for you! Congrats!

They truly are great...i knew with my daughter that i wanted a pain free birth and honestly dont think i would have made it through if not for the water...when she was born she was so alert and she didnt cry at all which freaked me out i asked if she was ok my midwife said that because of how gentle the birth was she was not in a "state of shock" is how she put it..it was so wonderful...

Emily, We don't have birthing centers in my state! I wish we did. I think my husband would feel even better with that scenario. I think I do want to have a water birth, but don't know yet. They look wonderful and I hear they're great!

Andrea...thats awesome to hear that ur going through a mid wife..i too have a mid wife and i did with my daughter as well...i love my midwife i fell that she cares more about me as a person rather than a patient but I had my daughter and am planing to have this baby in a birthing center with the water birth it was so relaxing in the birth center and none of the nurses bugged me and i was able to go all natural with my daughter which is what i wanted just hope this labor does not last 27 hours like it did with her :) I really dont hear much from anyone using a midwife and its awesome when i hear someone else does :)

Hey Tanya, I am over 35, and was with my last baby, too, who is now two. I'm planning on having a home birth this time and am super excited about it! Because I'm using a midwife, I am not going to worry nor will she be testing for all the things a doctor normally would, and I don't expect my age to be an issue. If for some reason I had a Down Syndrome child or something, we'd deal with that, but I'm not stressing about it because 1, stress won't help anyone, and 2, I know plenty of women who've had healthy babies after 35. Not saying you're stressing or anything, just sharing. :) Congrats to you on your pregnancy!

I will most definitely need some tips from you mommy's of 2+. I am becoming more excited, but already feeling out numbered. But I can't wait to meet my new little one. So, far this little one is laid back. My princess was always running the show even in the womb. ;)

Again, congratulations to all!

Thanks Lindsey and Tiffany,
The anxiety has calmed down considerably. The mood swings not so much. I feel like Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde. I can cry at a thought and that can be a little unnerving as I am usually put together.
I love tea and have been drinking some every couple of days. I find tea to be very calming; its the sipping part that I enjoy.
I have also been going for short walks and trying to pick up my Wii dance routine, but I still feel so drained. The extreme exhaustion comes and goes though.
I hope everyone is starting to feel better. :)

Hey I am due second week of April I believe, almost 10 weeks now, with my second.. Nice to see I am not the only one going through some of these things. I am finally seeing the nausea coming around, i missed a couple days work when I just couldn't handle it, so happy to be finishing up with that. I just wondered if anyone else is finding they are exhausted? I don't remember being this tired with the first, but I was a lot sicker with her and maybe that is why I don't remember. I find myself napping when my toddler does LOL. Don't get much done that way though. Congrats to everyone!!

Kiesa- Maybe try some herbal tea? My friend swears by it.. she's pregnant with her 10th.. yes I said 10th... and she swears it helps soothe her nerves.
I agree, might be worth mentioning it to your doctor just in case they can do more for you :).

I have had nausea off and on, and took a ginger supplement in capsule form that I happened to have at home. That seemed to help, so might be an idea for someone, too! I'm sorry you're feeling anxious, Kiesa! Hopefully that won't last too long and you can enjoy thinking about your new arrival! I haven't been sleeping well, and that, along with then being short-tempered with my other kids, is making me slightly crazy.

Kesia, I'm sorry to hear that.

It might be a good idea to talk to your doctor about it. It could be something as simple as mood swings, which are pretty common during pregnancy. I know with my first, I had a couple of panic attacks in the first couple of months, but they passed the further along I got. This time around I find myself crying at the drop of a hat (ie. a sad song, a commercial for World Vision, when I burn dinner). Hopefully these will pass too.

Meditation and exercise might help you as well. Remember to take time for yourself too, as stress and fatigue can trigger anxiety.

I'm here if you need to talk.

Well compaired to last pregnancy morning sickness wise this one has been a walk in the park, but I have still been sick. With my son I ended up on diclection (sp) for 7 months. With this one every night from 9pm - 1am I'm getting really queezy but otherwise not too bad.

What I'm finding with this pregnancy is how it's feeling? I don't know if I can describe it but I already feel heavy in the pelvic area. My breasts are also horribly tender this go round.

It's amazing how different the pregnancys can be!

I've yet to get sick.. but I honestly feel like I have the flu-these past 2 weeks. Chills, headaches, hunger followed by nausea.. food aversions ... smells make me sick... my worst symptom is all of my nightmares though.

I find tangy fruit, like pineapple, really helps the m/s. Same with lemon. I love chocolate, but am not wanting it.. bummer :(.

Feel better soon!

Kiesa, I feel for you. Are you worried about anything specific that is causing you to feel anxious, or is it a just a general feeling of anxiety?

Lindsey, poor thing. The morning sickness thing is horrible. Thanks for the information about Ginger beer. I have had times when I have eaten something and inevitably caused a bout of nausea. So far Sprite has done the trick and I'm a tea drinker so tea is great for the moment. I've been feeling okay. I just can't shake this anxiety. Serious anxiety that I feel in my belly. If I can figure out how to get rid of that I think I'll be okay, minus the exhaustion.

Well, I prayed and hoped, but to no avail. The joys of morning sickness are upon me. Neverending queasiness all afternoon and evening.

I tried soda crackers, gingerale, peppermint tea, almonds... nothing seemed to help. However, I think I may have found some relief in the form of ginger beer. It tastes, well, to be polite, strong. But if I leave it out to go a little flat and sip on it throughout the afternoon, it seems to help. Just a little tip for those who are (or who will soon be) in the same boat as me. You can find it at a number of grocery stores (I found it at Safeway).

How is everyone else feeling?

Correction; I"ll have 4... 4 and under.. EEK! My oldest will be 4 this Nov, and he has high functioning Autism.. he's my biggest challenge. My youngest, I had IUGR with her.. and I pray I don't have it with this next baby. She was 4lbs when we brought her home from the hospital, and I was a nervous wreck. Congratulations to us all!

Congratulations to you all! I found out I am expecting number 2 either April 30, or May 1. This pregnancy so far is slightly different from my first; as I have absolutely no energy, no appetite, and my chest are so sensitive I can hardly stand it. However, I am very thankful and even more thankful for the lack of nausea or morning sickness which I did not experience the first time either. Keeping my fingers crossed about that.

Wow, Tiffany! Mine are quite as young as yours (my oldest will be 8 when this one is born, and my others will be 5.5 and almost 3), but life will still be hectic just because of all the care a newborn requires plus the fact that I essentially homeschool my kids! My two oldest attend a virtual charter school, and we started yesterday. It's somewhat crazy trying to get through the curriculum with a toddler running around and I'm not sure I even want to try to imagine what it will be like with a baby, too! Fortunately, we can work at our own pace, so I may work to get them done early, so I don't have to stress so much about it once the baby arrives. I have a business, too, so life is VERY busy!!! :)

They said not to have hot baths but not bringing on contractions. It warms up your blood which then heats up the baby too much and they cant cool down fast enough which can cause problems. I did bath but usually kept it cool and my belly mostly out of the water. Hope that helps a bit.

Aarin,

No cravings for me. With my first all I wanted to eat was toasted tomato and cheese sandwiches and ice cream, but so far this time I hardly want to eat at all. I'm not nauseous, I just don't want to eat anything.

Question for everyone though... Yesterday when I went to my Dr. he told me not to have hot baths, that they can bring on contractions. This is the same Dr. I had with my first and I don't remember him saying anything about this before. Is this something your Dr.'s have warned you about?

I'm a little envous of you Lindsey! This pregnacy has been so different from my last. I'm very bloated as well and the cravings have started all ready. I can't believe it. I also look like a teenager with all the breakouts going on! Plus the morning sickness (but that is the same as the last)
