I am getting induced in 8 days and I am so nervous... I am having major anxiety when I think about the actual labor process. Anybody else experiencing something like this?

I haven't been induced but i was 5 days late with my daughter and i went into labour on my own the day i was scheduled to be induced with my son. I just stayed upright and walked each night as it was cooler then and more relaxing. With my first labour was long nad tireing, but iwouldnt change it, even if i could. With my second i read more and was more educated on birth positions and so i stayed on my feet as much as possible during the day as the babys head pushing on the cervix will help to get labour started. My waters broke at 1am and i went back to bed and slept for another hour and a half. My waters were clear so i was not worried about meconnium in the waters. When i woke at 3.30ish i got contractions. If you can stay on your feet and walk and breath through the contractions. Stay Upright, forward and over (UFO) if possible as this willmake labour easier. When it came to pushing i knelt on the ground but after a while i turned around and crouched in the birth stoll position with my partner supporting me and the baby was born so easily that way. By staying active in my labour it was only 12 hours long and i had a bit of gas when iwent from 8 to 10cm dialated and then i didnt want it any more. The pain was manageable. That was my second labour. The first was 27 hours, painful and i spent the time sitting or on the bed which didn't help. Iknwo everyone is different but i hope labour is not to long and pinful for you. Good luck and enjoy your new baby :)

I got induced with my first baby. I surprisingly wasn't nervous. I didn't have an epidural (I was too scared of the needle) and honestly, I didn't think labor was that bad just keep walking and have lots of sex as this will help you dilate faster! I walked miles and miles every day and my labor went sooooo much faster because I was dilated to 3 before they started! Don't push until you absolutely feel like you have to! like Linea said when you feel like you have to go to the bathroom really bad that's when you start if you start pushing too soon it can cause you to swell and go into a c-section! Good luck! Hope everything goes well! Let me know how labor goes!

With my daughter i was induced at 37wks...I was a nervous wreck but excited too because I was going to finally be able to meet my baby girl. The dialating and effacing process was not that enjoyable but once you feel that really strong urge to go to the bathroom and you know the baby is coming it is all worth it! The pushing part wasn't that bad but try to rest as much as you can before you get to the point of pushing. Once I knew that she was essentially waiting for me to push I got an energy rush and just pushed as hard as I could. I was so worried that I wasn't going to be able to do it...or it be like the shows that I have seen on tv that midway through the pushing I just get to the point where I feel like I can't push anymore, but I was determined that I was not going to have a c-section unless it was absolutely neccessary. You will do fine it is completely normal to be worried you just can't let it take over your life. Get it set in your mind that it is not going to be easy but that you can do it!
