I think I'm pregnant, I have all symptoms and did a test and it was positive but I've been to the doctors to confirm, I've been spotting for about 3 days now but yesterday morning and this morning I woke up and was bleeding quite heavy but then throughout the day it stopped and returned back to pinky brown discharge, can anyone help and tell me wether this is okay or not?:(

I've been bleeding since May,11,2013. Went to the Dr.June 5 and Dr.says I'm pregnant so shocked I cried balled! Because I was sure it was something else. 41 years old with an almost four year old.I've since been to the emergency room twice for heavy bleeding and blood clots I woke up the other day in a pool of blood.the Dr took some blood clots out on the first er visit and they send me home saying threatened miscarriage, but baby its seen on ultrasound a well a good heart beat.today I'm just laying down and wham another gush of blood and a large clot.I decided not to go to the emergency room this time because they don't do anything but an ultrasound and I have an appt in the morning.the er Dr.says there is a bleed next to the baby that massively bigger then the baby so maybe it will stop maybe not today I have a mild crmping on the left side.I don't feel pregnant at all because of all the bleeding I guess. No sore nipples no morning sickness I just feel sick and exhausted all the time.with the cramping maybe this is it I'll find out tomorrow.

I had a normal period April 30, 2013 it lasted until May 7, 2013 I was expecting my next period to start May 28th or 29th I bleed for 1 day on May 23rd and not very heavy which I assumed was implantation bleeding. I have been having pregnancy symptoms I took 2 tests at about 4th week..came up negative....so I figured I would wait a little bit longer, as in my other pregnancies I took home pregnancy tests and they all came negative even 2 months into it, I always had to take blood test to confirm. More symptoms started coming on...Nausea/morning sickness (if I am pregnant I would be almost 8 weeks at this point)....I really feel that I am pregnant, but I went to the bathroom earlier (june 22, 2013) and started bleeding, its light but it is red...not heavy and thick like my normal periods usually are...I had no indication of my period coming on as I usually do...could I be pregnant?

Yes. I had it. It turned out I had something called a subchorionic hemorrhage. It didn't harm the babies, but it did cause a lot of worry and concern, at the time.

There are many reasons for bleeding (many of them benign), the only way to confirm it is to go to the doc and get an ultrasound.

If it is any comfort, I got through it. I'm still pregnant and approaching 25 weeks with my fraternal twins.

Whatever happens, just remember, you didn't do anything to "make" it happen and you had very little control over the outcome.

I wish you the best and hope my story helps.

I found out January 12, 2014 Im pregnant. 4 days ago and today I'm 5 weeks 3 dats. No bleeding til the next week I found out I was pregnant and started off with very little blood to pinkish, brown and red blood. But later on the blood started getting a little dark to light then back.No pain, feel like period cramps but not crampy to where it hurts and can't take the pain. Bleeding for a week now, went to my first O.B appointment and did a sonogram at the hospital everything looked and seemed normal from what the doc told me. Still worried on what this could be, got so many answers good and bad from family and friends. Implantation or period, miscarriage? Last thing I need on my mind every night I go to bed. Both me and my man are scared and worried. Help us with some info. I pray every night , hope for the best. Don't want to lose this baby, not another.

Hello I had bleeding all first trimester into the second trimester. I started with a very low hcg of 12 the dr had me repeat the blood test several times since under 5 is considered neg and anything under 25 they usually consider pos. It did slowly double then at 6 weeks I ended up waking up spotting went to er and started passing clots. I was sure the baby was not going to make it they did an ultrasound and said baby was there but slow heartbeat. I went home and according to the dr I should prepare for possible mc well the bleeding went to spotting then would turn brown then pink and sometimes red. This went on til about 4 1/2 months pretty much everyday I had bleeding that changed in color and some days it was more then others. Wel they did a lotof testing they never really were able to tell me where the bleeding was coming from.my placenta was ok nothing elsewas seen on ultrasound that would explain the bleeding. Eventually it just stopped I was off And on bedrest most of thisregnancy but im currently 34 weeks and 2 days baby is movin all over the place.

Hi im 12 weeks pregnant and 2 days ago i stood up and had liquid come out and then bleeding followed. I started freaking out because this was not normal i was really scared for my baby. I went to the ER they did many test and and ultra sound and my baby was fine and i saw the heart beat and it was moving around. I was bleeding alot still. The doctor told me that i had old blood between the placenta and the uterus. Not sure how it got there but he said that i would be bleeding for a few days and stil am but very lightly. Im still alittle worried because this morning i had some more liquid but this time it was a small amount. The doctor told me it could go either way that i could go on to have a healthy complete pregnancy or i could go on to miscarry, but hopefully everything comes out fine.

Hi I was pregnant and bleed through my whole pregnancy off and on but mostly on. I even was rushed at one point (3 months Preg) to the emergency room because of the amount of blood. I thought for sure I lost the baby. Nope my cervix was closed and baby fine on ultrasound. Crazy; not to mention scary but , try not to let it bother you and do your best not to stress for its not healthy for you or baby. I had a fiberoid , but they couldnt ever give me an definate explaination where the blood was comming from. So stay healthy and strong and Ill keep you in my prayers...

I am 5 n half weeks pregnant now and I have started bleeding 3 days ago..My hcg level was very low when i found i was pregnant and i was told to do another test to compare the hcg level but was even lower, because i started bleeding from the day i found i was pregnant from the blood test result. I have no pain no cramps though.I rush into the hospital and found that its a vaginal bleeding but my cervix is still closed. I have booked an ultrasound for tomorrow and the doctor have told me its a 50-50 chance of pregnancy or miscarriage..this is my first baby after my 6 yrs of marriage and dont want to lose..just praying to god for good ultrasound result tomr..has any one have got similar cases?

The same thing is happening to me, I am about 6 weeks pregnant and at first i was spotting old blood (brownish) then i went to my gyne and he did a vaginal ultrasound and it was too early to tell if the baby was there even though you could see the sack and a very faint little dot, but after i went home I noticed that i was bleeding red and and as the day went on it got heavy and i started cramping like i was on my period, Right now its going away but i have been bleeding for about 6 days. My doctor told me it could be signs of a miscarriage, Ive been asking friends who have kids already and some told me they had went through the same things and they have healthy babies now, I have my next appointment tomorrow , they are going to give me my blood test results to see if my HCG levels are low, I've been praying a lot. Ill keep you posted on what happens.

I just had this scare. I miscarried in Feb 2013 - had a dating U/S because I got pregnant on the pill and had no idea how far along I was. U/S showed no heartbeat. Had a D&C 5 days later - my body was not doing the job itself.

Found out I was pregnant at the beginning of June 2013 and for obvious reasons I have been on edge about everything. I had some light pink spotting almost daily from 6-8 weeks which is perfectly normal according to my OB. I had some bleeding around 8 weeks with a very small clot. I went to the ER and U/S showed a perfect baby, 8w3d, heart beating furiously @ 155bpm...I am now 11w with no other negative symptoms. It's definitely scary but glad I went right away to get checked. Good luck to you...I hope everything works out

I've read that it's more common early in the pregnancy, which is why I was very nervous when I started bleeding at 25 weeks with periodic cramping. It could be a sign of something serious so it's important to call your doctor ASAP. Well, my doctor checked everything, even had a scheduled ultrasound, and they couldn't find anything wrong with me or my baby. The bleeding stopped after 5 days, but I go to my Dr. appointments more frequently now so she can monitor me more closely. Like my husband says, better safe than sorry.

I am 5 weeks and I have been bleeding very, very lightly here and there for a couple of days. I know during the first trimester a very small amount is okay. But "basically started my period" is not okay. Go to the doctor asap, like ER. I know you want everything to be okay, but that much blood and all that cramping probably isn't good. And even for your own sake and health, I think you should seek emergency help- now. I hope all goes well, but don't put this off..

Lots of people get bleeding at the beginning, they call it implantation bleeding. Mild cramping is also sometimes noted, but the golden rule of pregnancy is if ANYTHING feels wrong, get checked out. Any bleeding, any cramping, ever. No matter how small. Sometimes it works wonders just to have your mind put at ease, and others, if something is up, they can find out whats going on immediately.

Hi trina, when i had my last child who is now 14 months ,at 7 weeks i woke 1 morning at 2.30 am to see to my then 4 month old daughter.I went to the loo and there were blood dtains ( bright red). After a bit of worry i went back to sleep. Then the next night i started to bleed so much that it was dripping down my leg as if i was starting a period. The next morning again i woke to crippling stomach pains where i was bent over doubled up.It passed and so i booked in with doc and she said we need to do hcg levels. So i phoned for the results and they were only 473 ,i was told with levels that low they suggest ive misscarried.Apparently they should of been above 1000 at that stage. Two days later they tested again to see if they had risen and yes they had to 1400 0dd.So i was still pregnant as they would of dropped if it was a miscarriage. It was very out of caracter for me as i had 5 children before him. Then i had a bleed at 16 weeks and then again at 34 weeks .But i had a healthy baby boy, some people have periods all the way through they say.I hope you go on ok and good luck.I havent had any bleeding this time( so far)

Hey Trina. I hope everything is still okay.

I had a similar situation with my pregnancy. I suddenly started bleeding at about 6 weeks and it continued (like a period) until about 11 weeks. I'm 34 weeks now.

I know how frightening it is. This is my third pregnancy and the first two ended with miscarriage in the first trimester. I went to a doctor the moment that the bleeding started and he filled me with fear. I don't know where he got his stats from (possibly from thin air - he's not a great Dr) but he told me that only 5% of women who start to bleed during pregnancy will continue on to have a baby and that there is nothing that I can do to prevent a miscarriage once it has started. After the bleeding had continued for 10 days I went to see another Dr and had some blood tests, which confirmed that I was still pregnant. What a happy shock! :D I still didn't want to get my hopes up and I didn't start to feel more confident until well after the bleeding stopped at 11 weeks and I had an ultrasound to confirm that everything was still okay. I didn't tell people that I was pregnant until 16.5 weeks because I was still worried that something would go wrong again. Now I'm 34 weeks, I have 2 more weeks left of work and I have a nice big belly. :)

I guess what I'm trying to get across to you is that bleeding is usually a bad sign, so please take it seriously. However, it doesn't ALWAYS work out badly and the fact that you're still pregnant now is a great sign. Just take it really easy - don't take any risks whatsoever or you'll feel responsible for the miscarriage if you have one. :)

I hope my story gives you some advice and also some comfort. Please keep us informed of your progress. Thinking of you. Nic

I don't want to worry you because I'm sure your circumstances are different that mine, but I have had bleeding during two of my pregnancies. The last one I passed clots and had a healthy baby until 20 weeks. My bleeding started to effect the placenta and it stopped giving her nutrients and she lost all of her fluid. She was stillborn on December 8th. I was on bedrest for almost 2 months of that pregnancy and hospitalized over night. My bleeding started at 13 weeks. My other pregnancy that I had bleeding I was off and on bedrest for most of the pregnancy after the bleeding started at 14 1/2 weeks. I was admitted to the hospital for 2 weeks at week 25. Went into premature labor at 30 weeks which couldn't be stopped and he was born 10 weeks early. I didn't have any cramping at all with that pregnancy. And in both pregnancies every time I had an ultrasound (which was often) the baby always was fine. In fact, the day I lost my daughter I had an appointment with my specialist that morning and she was still alive even though her fluid has diminished within a matter of 5 days (since my last ultrasound). They could never really find a reason for anything and the babies were always doing well.

So, I guess my point is please don't take anything lightly. Take good care of yourself. Take it easy. Limit physical activity, don't have sex (probably for the duration of the pregnancy), perhaps even put yourself on bedrest until your bleeding subsides.

im not on bedrest. Im about 10 weeks and bit right now. Im calling my midwife tomorrow to see what else to do. I have absolutely no cramping, but I have passed a couple of small blood clots. Im more calm about it now after the ultrasound because they said everything looked great, and i still "feel" pregnant, so im told that's also a good sign. I try not to worry too much about it, but it is frustrating!!

I've actually been bleeding now for 3 weeks straight. At first it was just spotting, didn't need to wear a pad. Now it is kind of a heavy flow period. I had an ultrasound and everything looked great. I am going to call my midwife again though just to update her on whats going on. Apparently it's normal for some people to just bleed during their pregnancies. (This is my second pregnancy but never had any bleeding with my first.)

Glad to hear the baby has grown! I did have bleeding at about 10 weeks (no cramps), and went on to have a healthy little girl! I was told that sometimes you can get bleeding as a result of when the baby implants into the womb lining, and is quite 'normal'. Having said that, its always worth getting ANY bleeding checked out, as you have done. I hope everything goes OK for you! Sending you lots of luck and best wishes!

I got pregnant for the first time in feb. Started bleeding at 7 weeks, at first it was light with light cramping but it got worse. The bleeding was heavy and the cramping about paralyzed me. My bleeding started the day of my ultrasound so I found out that day that i miscarried. I know you don't want to here this (I didn't either) but there is hope. I am about 6 weeks pregnant now, I got pregnant about 2 weeks after my miscarriage without a period. You will be in my thoughts and prayers, I hope all is well.

I have spotted through most of my 1st trimester in all 6 of my pregnancies. I have 4 healthy children. My 1st loss was a 1st tri loss and the other was a 2nd tri loss of twins at 22w4d because of preterm labor. I also had some cramping early on and had early ultrasounds to confirm the pregnancy.

I also had some serious 'bleeding' because of a subchorionic hematoma at 7 weeks  while pg with my daughter. She is a healthy almost-4-yr-old now.

At about 6-7 weeks an ultrasound can detect a heartbeat. I suggest that you call your doc and get in as soon as you can.

Good luck

I have had bleeding, but in my 2nd trimester.  That has happened to me in 2 pregnancies and I have had 2 different outcomes.  One is a preemie and the other was a stillborn.  It doesn't sound good that you have cramping.  I had cramping with the stillborn and when I delivered her at 20 weeks I realized that the cramping felt a lot like the contractions I had when I delivered her.  With your bleeding and cramping being in the first trimester I would say the chances are not good, but I do hope I am wrong.  If you haven't been to the doctor yet, make an appointment so they can check things out.  They can confirm if it is a miscarriage.  I am sorry I am not able to give you the hope or support you are looking for, but I did want to provide a different kind of support.  If this is indeed a miscarriage, there is a forum on circle of moms called: Motherhood after the death of a child:  pregnancy, infant.  I have found much support there from other mothers who have suffered losses through miscarriage, stillborn, infant death, even older.  I think you would also find it helpful as losing a child is a hard thing to deal with.  Good luck.  I hope all is well.  God bless!
