Has anyone heard of intelligender?

So.. I heard of this thing called intelligender on the show "The Doctors" and what it is, is you pee in a cup with chemicals in it and after ten minutes it will tell you if you are having a boy or girl. Green for a boy and Orange for a girl. And you can take the test anywhere from 10 weeks pregnant to I think it is 32 weeks. I took it and it said I was having a boy and my husband got SUPER excited! It's his first.. so I was just wondering if anyone else has taken this and if it turned out to be true.

Yea I bought mine @ Walgreens and I also heard that it had very negative reviews but I had money to spend and I was 12 weeks pregnant so I figured, what the heck! And it came out green. I have a boy. Ta Da! :) Not a waste of money although I didn't trust it because it had bad reviews so I didn't start going out and buying boy stuff but anyways, I knew it was a boy the second I found out I was pregnant.

I talked to my dr a bout those and they aren't very accurate, although some people would swear by them. We don't have a lot of money to throw around on stuff like that so were just going to try and find out at the ultra sound.

Have you tried looking up the Chinese birth chart? Everyone I talked to said that it worked for them, and it worked for my first child. IT's a chart where you give how old you'll be when you give birth as well as what month you conserved in (or something like that).

Also, ultra sounds COULD be wrong. We couldn't get an accurate reading with my first, the dr said it looked like it could be a girl, however we had a boy!

We too decided to spend our $35 and find out early. We of course didn't read the instructions too closely. Ours came out "boy" at about 12 weeks and then at the 20 week ultrasound, we got the suprise of it being a girl. The part we failed at was not having intercourse within a couple of days of taking the test. I'm sure what we got was a reading of his testosterone and not the baby's.

I would take the other poster's advice as well. Don't paint or buy too much boy stuff until you have the confirmation ultrasound. BTW - We're still happy we're having a girl, just had to scramble to get rid of some of the boy stuff we already had received!

I took it at 13 weeks and it said I was having a boy...Five weeks later my ultrasound said the same thing!

I know quite a few women who have taken the Intelligender and it was only correct for one of them at the confirmation ultrasound. Its a fun thing to do, if you don't mind spending the money on something that isn't all that accurate, but I wouldn't go painting your nursery and buying clothes until you have had your anatomy ultrasound.

I didn't take anything like that but I have heard of a similar test sold by Walgreens and it doesn't have very positive reviews. I was thinking of buying it early in my pregnancy until I read all of the negative reviews & decided to save my $35. Not sure if it's available in your area but I had an ultrasound at 16 weeks to determine gender (at a place other than my doctor) & it was extremely accurate. Cost me $89. Anyways, hope your Intelligender test works out the way you want it to & congratulations. P.S. Sometimes negative feedback doesn't mean anything. I did a program called natural gender selection to try to have a boy & it has a LOT of negative feedback and skepticism and it worked for me!
