I'm on my 2nd baby. I am 16 weeks and 5 days prego. I have been feeling the fluttering movements for a long time I want to say 10-11 weeks mayber earlier. I am really curious because I am still feeling the flutters but, a few moments ago I felt something like popcorn on my side 3x I am wondering if I will be feeling the strong kicks soon? I felt my son's first kick at week 21. I am so excited hope it's soon I know my husband is anxious for those first kicks!

i had the same thing the doctor told me it was just my muscles stretching. I didn't feel our baby girl move until about twenty weeks it did kinda feel like popcorn but every pregnancy is different.

I felt my first daughter moving at 16 weeks even though my Dr said it was too early (it kept happening so I know it was her moving), my second daughter I felt at 15 weeks and my current pregnancy (twins) I didn't feel until I was about 20 weeks. I always described it as feeling like someone was flicking me from the inside : ) I am now 23 weeks and these little buggers have some force about them and there's NO doubting they're moving! I'd say it could be your baby moving. just keep track of how often it happens and if it is pretty regular then I'd probably say it is : ) Good luck and enjoy!

Yes, popcorn/flutters..I felt more with my second (now 27 weeks) than my first..

With my first, at 20 weeks she made my stomach jump hard when my hubby got close and started feeling my belly.. he was so schocked.. he asked "was that the baby" lol...

You're probably feeling both round ligament pains and fluttering of the baby. I first felt mine move at around 13 weeks but I had been having complications and was on alert for any feelings. My doctor said that's probably why I noticed the movements so early. This is my first pregnancy. Once that baby is making actual movements though, you will def know what it is. I'm 26 weeks tomorrow and my little girl won't stay still hardly at all.

Maddison Elizabeth Marie Bearce is 25 weeks and 6 days old in Mommy's tummy and is due May 1st, 2010

The sharp pain is probably the stretching of your muscles. When the baby moves or kicks it doesn't hurt at all. Sometimes I have noticed it kind of tickles. As far as knowing it is your baby....you just do! It kind of feels fluttery and quick usually at first. Now that I am 28 weeks, I can tell when she is awake and when she is asleep by her kicking patterns.

Cheri, the pain you're feeling could be the tendons stretching as your abdomin makes room for the growing womb. I was worried and asked my doctor and thats what he told me. Its a really sharp pain, thats very sudden. It can be caused by moving or just for no reason at all.

First time moms are not expected to feel the baby untill after 20 weeks or so. Our muscles are just to... ummm... elastic? The amount a baby can move before then just doesn't register for us. I'm in the same boat as you though, I just cant wait!!

I am 17 weeks today and Haven't felt anything. I am 5' 6 and with my first I started at 165. I felt him at 14 weeks. It felt like popcorn! This time I'm starting at 190 and haven't felt a thing so far. All women and pregnancy's are different. Have you seen the show "I didn't know I was pregnant" some babies can never be felt if the placenta is positioned in the way or if they are just naturally calm.

Right now our babies have a lot of room so they are just not pushing against the edges yet. hopefully we'll feel them soon!

At 17 weeks you might be able to feel the baby move, it's definitely big enough. I usually lay flat on my back and put my hands on my stomach. If you don't feel anything after 10 minutes or so poke around a little bit, maybe the baby is sleeping. I was around 18 weeks when i felt my first child moving.

with my first baby who was born in july 2009 i felt her move at around 14 weeks im currently pregnant with my second baby and again i can feel my baby movin and im 14 and a half weeks now. it feels like butterflies/popcorn yes lol but it shuddnt be painful if it is then i wud say that it wasnt the baby movin that u was feeling would more likely be ur body adapting to being pregnant :)

You will typically feel the baby move around 19-22 weeks. They become more frequent and stronger, and you'll just know when it's the baby. I was SOO worried about not being able to tell when it was my baby kicking, but when I felt it it was teh most beautiful thing ever. The sharp pain was probably round ligament pain or something relating to your ever adapting body :) I've heard it described as popping popcorn, butterflies, etc. I personally find it more like a rubber ball being tossed around in my tummy. Some light bounces, but some hard :)

17 weeks is pretty early to feel the baby move, but its totally possible. i also had pains early on, and its not the baby move. you WILL know when you feel them move. the best way i can describe it is like fluttering, like you litterally have butterflies in your tummy, but its a beautiful baby, not silly butterflies. it doesnt hurt at all, not untill they start kicking, which is doesnt even hurt then, its just more uncomfortable i think. but the first movements are just brushing against you. i hope i helped a little, good luck and congrats! only 3 more months for me and i will get to see my beautiful baby girl!
