Hi Everyone,
So I'm 11 1/2 weeks pregnant with my first baby, I'm due June 10th, 2012. We were thinking of having my baby shower in the middle of April, 2012 but i was wondering when do you start planning it?? Is now too soon? I have a REALLY big family and i just want to make sure we don't forget anything or anyone and have enough of everything. My mother in law along with my mother and grandmother plan on helping and i just want to make sure we all save enough money. And i don't want to leave it to the last minute and be running around like crazy all stressed out( even tho i'm sure it will still happen lol). any thought would help! thanks guys♥

its just a babyshower nothin crazy i mean i called everyone a week before the shower and invited them.. got some balloons, decorations ect.. and made some food and had some family bring some food and thats it. also i think that unless u no that sex of the baby you should wait till after the baby is born to have the shower. i had my daughters shower when she was 4 weeks old this way everyone got to see her all at once so i didnt have lots of people coming to my house all the time to see the baby. also i didnt no the sex of the baby this way people know what sex to buy for so u dont have just neutral colored stuff

One of the biggest hit games my mom did was putting photos up on a wall of celebrities when they were young kids and then a list of their names in random order. Number each celeb photo, then give everyone a sheet of paper and call out the winner 30 minutes later. This was a HUGE attraction and conversation topic even for all the guys involved. Everyone loved it. My 2nd advice would be to hang a sheet over this to hide it right up until everyone goes to actually play this game, because too many people stood around beforehand and chatted about it before playing LOL

I wouldn't stress over it too much. I had 2 showers thrown for me. One by my MIL and one by my own mom. I didn't even expect anyone to throw me one, as I didn't have many friends in the area. Both turned out amazing and it was more just a great memory than anything else.

If you can, have your mom and grandma and other relatives plan it FOR you. You shouldn't be involved! What is wrong with you ;) it's so nice to be surprised by the decorations and this is a tradition that you shouldn't be involved in the planning. That will help your stress a lot.

Think of all the other parties you will have to plan in the future. Birthdays for your kids! Christmas. Thanksgiving! You'll have so many opportunities in the future to throw parties.

It doesn't take long either. My mom only planned 1 week in advance and it came out great. The dollar store has lots of stuff. The internet has a plathora of information available for games. Really, don't stress.

This day is supposed to be FUN :)

my family plan the shower three months beforee i was due. That was fine. I didn't care what color clothes I got. My daughter wears boy and girl clothes. it just a baby and it does not matter what they wear. I put overall on her even.
