I need POSITIVITY in my pregnancy!!

I am 27 weeks pregnant, today! Woot! 3rd trimester! We've had some complications that have landed me on bed rest, so every milestone feels just a little more exciting to us. Anyway, other than the complications that we've had during this pregnancy (our first), I am loving life! I have a husband that I couldn't be more in love with, a beautiful (although modest) home, and am finally expecting a lovely little daughter that we've wanted for years! Additionally, even though this is my first, I do have some experience with raising children (having essentially been a live-in nanny at one point, and having had our toddler niece live with us for quite some time). So, here is my dilemma/problem...

Where are all the positive comments?? I am finding that due to my age and circle of friends I have very few friends who are raising babies at this time in their life. The couple that I have seem so miserable in life and motherhood that their only comments to me are things like, "keep dreaming, the weight will never come off" and, "seriously, enjoy pregnancy because everything goes downhill after that." They like to throw in the occasional, "yes, motherhood is wonderful and the best time in your life but......" I think they just say that because they feel like they have to. Why is everyone so miserable? Then I come on here (and I understand that this is a sounding board for advice and problems), but I kind of feel the same way. Where are the moms with young children who can say something uplifting and positive to assure me that my excitement bubble is not going to be popped the moment that she arrives?

Has anyone else had this experience?

I tried the app. In an effort to stay positive I will keep to myself the specific reasons why. But, that is DEFINITELY NOT what I was looking for.

Thanks anyway!

I hear you! I think this is an issue for everyone. Have you tried any of the mobile communities? I've been using the Preggie app. It's safe and has some great supportive moms. Then you can find someone who lives near you. Good luck!
