I was at work and i felt a gush. I went to medical imediatly and when i went to the bathroom and bled alot. They sent me to the ER and they did an ultrasound and we saw a heartbeat. They said it was a threatened miscarriage. Right now...about 10 hours later im not bleeding...But is there a chance i could still lose the baby?

There is a chance yes but it could also be a host of other things. I would request an ultra sound that way they can see if the bleed is due to a haemorrage in your uterus, if not the blood could be coming from elsewhere.

Try not to worry though it is possible that the bleeds are not a bad sign. I had several bleeds during my first pregnancy, mostly they were very minor bleeds, however, the third was a heavy bleed - I went straight to A&E because I was positive I was miscarrying - finally they scanned me and it showed everything was as should be. I was told that like the nose the vagina has several small blood vessels, which sometimes burst if they are under pressure (pregnancy puts pressure on them) and so I had a 'nose' bleed in my vagina. The bleeds stopped when I was in my second trimester. My pregnancy continued to full term.

Again in this pregnancy I had several bleeds during my first trimester, one which lasted for over a week and gave me stomach cramps - I was put on bed rest until it stopped, again the scans showed everything was normal, so there was no reason for my bleed they can see. The doctors told me some women just bleed during pregnancy and I seem to be one of those women.

It could go either way. I had a full on HEAVY period and was pregnant and didn't know it. Then I had miscarried one and hadn't bled at ALL. Praying for you hon. Take it easy. Hope for the best.

Unless a doctor see's this no one can really answer that hunny. There's a number of things it could be.

I had pretty bad bleeding in my first pregnancy about the same time. We got to see the little one on the ultrasound. They told me it could still go either way. So yeah, there's a chance. But getting a positive ultrasound combined with the stop in bleeding probably makes it more likely that the outcome will be good. In my case they saw another clot in there so I knew there was going to be more bleeding later (took three weeks). No one knows why it happened.

It's always possible that you could lose the baby, but like others said, there are a number of things that could cause the bleeding. At 7 weeks I also had gushing, the bleeding last about 3 days, the day I began bleeding I had an ultrasound and saw a heart beat. At 10 weeks same thing happened, baby still had a heart beat but found some complications. I was diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma. I am currently 15 weeks and still pregnant. Baby is healthy but if the hematoma gets any bigger I could still lose the baby. I would defnitely request another ultrasound to look for something like that.
