HELP! I've been fighting with this migraine for 21 hours and I can't take it anymore. I have tried rest/sleep and tylenol. :( Nothing is helping. I read that you should call your doctor if the migraine doesn't subside after a few hours...I'm wondering if anyone else thinks this is necessary. Could something be wrong?!

I suffer from terrible migraines outside of pregnancy, 1 a month minimum. I've been fortunate *KNOCK ON WOOD* to not have one yet during this pregnancy so I'm not sure where my midwife stands on it. But with my 1st pregnancy, my Dr. prescribed me narcotics, which are apparently OK during pregnancy, but they didn't really do much other than let me sleep for 4 or 5 hours. It never went away. I'd call your Dr and see if they have suggestions. But my suggestion is lots of water, quiet and an ice pack on the back of your neck. Also, try massaging the pressure points in your hands and nasal area.

I hope you feel better soon!

Yes sometimes that's normal, but I would be careful about waiting to long. Get to a doctor if it continues.

well after 30 hours the intensity went away, but I can still feel a dull headache (kind of annoying!) but at least its not as strong.:) The cool pack did help some...but I think it was the many hours of sleep that made it go away. Thanks ladies! :)

I'm so sorry, I suffer from migraines too so I know all too well how frustrating they can be! And during pregnancy they tend to get worse. While I'm not sure if it's okay to take during pregnancy, ask your doctor about Maxalt. It's a anti-anxiety type of medication (some of which are okay to take during pregnancy, but lik eI said, this one may not be). It's what I used to use, and it really helped with my migraines! But if they are unbearable definitely see your doctor, there's always something that could help... even seeing a chiropractor could help.

i have NEVER had a migrane in my whole life, and im currently 15 weeks pregnant with twins and i have been getting the most horrible migranes the past three weeks. i get one just about every single day, and i even have a perscription for tylenol 3's and they still dont help, i have asked my doc and another doc and they both said that when your pregant they cant really give you too many meds to cure the migrane, so you kinda just have to deal with it. the best thing to do is sleep it off, i know it dont work great, but it does help ease the pain a little.

I suffer with migraines all the time... In the beginning of my pregnancy I went without getting any so i thought I was gonna be lucky but not the case. So when I talked to my Dr (Midwife) they prescribed me Midrin because it is supposed to be safe during pregnancy. I think the first time I took it it made me pretty sleepy but now it doesnt really bother me. If I have to take it at night it does help me sleep but it works during the day too. I told them I cant take anything that makes me sleep because I have a three year old. I would talk to your Dr and see what he/she says about it...I hope you find something that works..
