Morning Sickness or Flu?

I am 9 weeks and 5 days pregnant but have been unable to keep food or liquid down seems every time I eat it comes back up. I have tried saltines and sprite and water and nothing seems to work. This is my forth pregnancy and the first I have experienced any kind of nausea and vomitting. If anyone has any advice or related stories please share them with me. :) Hope it ends soon

I was unable to keep my foods down and was vomiting and reamining all day nauseous but since I started drinking No to morning sickness tea, my nausea and vomiting vanished all in a sudden. Also, the tea is preservative-free and safe for my baby and me.

in my early prenatal class last week one mom suggested something called preggo pops that she bought at toys R us or babies R us. A couple other moms agreed with her when she mentioned them so it might be worth checking into. Ginger is good, even a flat gingerale may help.

Hope you start feeling better soon :)

i went through that...i ended up at the emergency room because of it... only mine was all day sickness and i got the flu on top of it... it was ridiculous... i refused the morning sickness meds but the emerg dr said to take a ginger gravol every couple hours (if i could keep it down, otherwise he suggested a suppository gravol :S eww) so i worked hard to keep it down... lol and to drink gatorade until u felt well enough to eat so that u keep up the electrolites, i only took half the dose and it was enough that i had some relief and i quickly learned that the best thing for morning sickness, especially when its that bad, is to get some food into you, it really does help... so try some gravol and gatorade, and let that work and then try something like crackers or dry toast if that works for you, and before you know it you'll be hungry and eating...

It is definatly morning sickness (usually all day sickness). I was sick so much that i lost 5kg by 13 weeks, luckly the sickness stopped then. Just make sure you try to eat little bits and keep well hydrated. Even if you think your house is a pig sty just leave it and go lie down and rest its the best you can do for yourself.

This is definitely all day sickness, I had this my first pregnancy and just got over it in my second. Remember to drink anyways so that you dont get dehydrated. I had to be hospitalized the first time for dehydration, not fun! You can also try whats called seabands, you can get them at your local grocery store for about 8 dollars. They have pressure points to help you not feel nauseous. Also try peppermints, they aren't so tasty after a while, but they help with nausea too.

If you still can't hold down liquids though and begin to feel very weak, I urge you to tell you doctor immediately! You can get very sick and there is medication that he/she can prescribe you to take if your nausea is severe. I had medicine with both of my pregnancies and whatever they give you will be safe for your baby.

Remember to get lots of rest! Hope you feel better soon! I know it seems like it takes forever, but keep telling yourself, just a few more weeks and this part will be over! (you should feel better around 3 or 4 months)

Try a tablespoon of lemon juice 5-10 minutes before you eat. My sister(she has 3 kids) passed this onto me and it worked really well. My hubby thought I was nuts but without it I wouldn't have been able to eat. My vomitting wasn't too bad but the nausea was awful! It was 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the first 15 weeks or so. Now that I'm in the third trimester my morning sickness is coming back here and there and I'm back on the lemon juice lol. This is my firs pregnancy and I just hope it's better next time! Good luck and congrats!
