This is my first child, so I don't really know what to expect! but the one thing i do tend to get often is pain in the right side of my stomach, it lasts no more than a couple of seconds and feels like i have just pulled a muscle... I am almost 12 weeks pregnant... should i worry? go to the hospital? or could this just be something very normal???

Comptetely normal streching and maybe a little of round ligament pains when they streach they try to retract and it hurts a lot but no need to worry your doc will tell you if something is wrong

Sounds like stretching. If the pain is unbearable, then you should definitely call your OB. Trust me there will be more twinges and pains as time goes on :).

yup, sounds like round ligament pain. always though tell your doctor about any pains you are having and how often. worse case scenarios for pain on the right side are urinary tract infections or appendicitis (sp?)..
but especially around 12 weeks round ligament pain is very common.
If the pain gets worse or you have any other symptoms, such as spotting or painful urination, pressure or a back ache, call the doc for an appt.. that could be a urinary tract infection.. which are very common when you are prego.

Sounds like Round Ligament pain to me. This pain feels like you pulled or are pulliNG a muscle. It happens when the uterus is growing and stretching to accomodate the baby and pregnancy as a whole. It's totally ok. Speak with your OB for more information on Round Ligament and what you may be able to do to alleviate the pain. Happy Growing Love!

your ligaments are probably just stretching. if you feel like it's un-bearable you should call your dr or ask them at the next visit, but most likely it's just stretching pains..

I had the same thing with my son and it scared the crap outta me. I did ask my doctor about them and she said that it was just my uterus stretching and that it was normal but if it really does bother u ask the doctor, there's nothing wrong with askin lots of questions! lol

Thank or this reply Erika, makes me feel better to know that someone else is experiencing the same at the moment... how far through your pregnancy are you? x

I was about to post this exact same question. It just feels like menstrual cramps and won't last long, that's why I haven't called my doctor yet. If it did get worse then of course I wouldn't hesitate to call, but I guess I'm not the only one with this problem. I figured it had something to do with my uterus stretching since I don't have to pee as often anymore and my stomach is starting to come out.

Id say its nothing to worry about, just the uterus muscles stretching to accommodate baby :) But if your worried better to be safe than sorry and go get it checked out x

Call your doctor if you think it's something to worry about, the dr. on call can answer for you too! There are a lot of questions being a first time Mommy! Believe me the first 3 months I called the dr almost once a week! It's normal to have questions. Take it one day at a time!
