Pregnant with mirena in place

Hello fellow members I had a mirena put in 27/06/13 after having my third child. This is the second time I've had one. The first was in for 4 1/2 years and up until now have been getting my period every month. I know that with mirena you eventually stop getting your periods ( well it did stop the first time I had it in.) I was due for my periods 11/10/13 but only had brown spotting a wk prior and thought it was my periods coming early but it didn't eventuate into a period. I started getting worried as I also started getting pregnancy symptoms. I know it's rare to fall pregnant on mirena but I took a test anyway and to my shock it turned out positive. So I went to the doctors today and got blood tests done and find out results tomorrow. Husband and I weren't planning anymore kids just yet hence getting mirena and ours youngest is only 10 months old. Just seeing if anyone else has had this happen and how it turned out. The doctor told me that most pregnancy with mirena are ectopic and can be dangerous. I'm so worried this could happen to me

I had a Mirena, and after the first 6 months my periods stopped, so I was completely paranoid every month that I was pregnant. I did not have any problems with it, but I finally had to take it out because my paranoia level was getting ridiculous.
It is very dangerous to you and obviously the baby if the pregnancy is ectopic. If not, there can still be a lot of complications because of the Mirena being in there. If they try to take it out it can cause a miscarriage. If they leave it in they may need to close your cervix. I've heard of some procedure they can do where they stitch it (or something like that), then when the baby is far enough along they go in and remove the stitches. And in my research I found out that the earlier in the pregnancy you have the Mirena removed the less likely you are to have a miscarriage.
Your doctor is going to be the best person to talk to about it.
I have also read that babies who go full term with the Mirena in place are usually healthy.
