Sleeping on the left

Hello,
I have just started gaining weight and getting bigger when I was smaller I was able to sleep on the left with no issues. Now I am finding myself able to fall asleep on the left side but I wake u on my back or stomach. How can I prevent this from happening? I do not have the money to get a body pillow. So please help me I am scared I am going to harm the baby if I do not sleep the right way. Thank you. This is my first child.

Nope, I have not needed any pillows behind my back. But snuggling up against hubby is always nice!

Rithean,
Thank you so much for that advice I am doing way better with sleeping now and days. Its much more confrontable to sleep on my sides. Thank goodness for my blanket that I have.
I am looking for ways to rest more confrontable throughout the night. Do you have pillows behind your back?

I was wondering about this too, because I prefer to sleep on my back, or right side. So far I sleep however is comfortable.

Yesterday I had an ultrasound and they had me on my back for 45 minutes. Baby was just fine, and I figure if it was so bad they would not put you that way.

Before 12 weeks you can be in your belly anyway since your uterus does not extend past the pelvic bone. Afterwards you will be uncomfortable that way and will probably move. Later on, just make sure your legs are not falling asleep and aim for a side. Use blankets as pillows if it helps. I do that.

Is it still hard for you to sleep on the left sense this is the 2nd pregancy

Hey Anita. That same thing happens to me as well. I was wondering about the same thing. I know its better for us to sleep on the left side for the baby's circulation. However, waking up on my tummy is very alarming. This is my second pregancy and I don't remember.
