My first baby wasn't a mover - I didn't start to feel him until I was 24 weeks and his kicks weren't strong enough for my hubby to feel them until I was over 30 weeks. We had a few fetal monitoring sessions because he would go whole mornings without so much as a small move - after half hour where they could see the baby wasn't moving they always told me to have a cold sugary drink like a coke or some ice-cream to 'wake' the baby up - it worked most of the time.

This second pregnancy I have a really active baby, I have felt the kicks from 15 weeks and hubby was feeling them at 20 ish weeks. Baby moves so much more than my son did - infact I had felt this baby move more up to 20 weeks than I ever felt my son move in the whole pregnancy with him.

Just bear in mind that every pregnancy is different and if you are ever concerned at your babies movements or lack there of contact your midwife/ doctor/ hospital unit and they can assess that everything is alright at the end of the day that is their job!

Each child is diff, my second moved but not as much as my first and the one I am pregnant with now just wont stop moving, which is not fun bc i cant sleep to well. I know we expect to feel more kicking on our second one because we have the idea of how it feels on the first. Have you seen you doc and told him/her about your concern? They might do an ultrasound to make sure all is well if you really are concerned. I hope this helps :)

With my first child I rarely felt her move throughout the pregnancy. They wanted me to count kicks and I could only feel her every few days, it was frightening and I was always scared she had passed on. With my second child, I swear if she stops kicking I will go in right away. She never stops. Every baby is different, what is normal for one child is not normal for another! If baby starts of with few kicks and stays that way throughout the pregnancy then that would be considered normal for baby. If baby is constantly kicking and then stops... then you worry!

totally normal...little baby in a big pond

Also, it will depend on where the placenta is..if it is anterior than you will have a quieter pregnancy because there is a cushion between the baby and your belly...if it is posterior you will feel more movement.

18 wks is sometimes just flutters and hard to tell if it's gas or not. some kick lots, others not so much. so, totally normal.

Hi, MY second did not move like hardly at all, I had to got to Fetal Monetering 3 days a week more if i could not get any movement after doing fetal kick counts..... My advice is to talk to your ob asap and see if they can get you in fetal monitering.... I had a c section with baby #1 and they told me my scar tissue could affect me feeling my 2nd baby... Dont know if thats for everyone its just another lovly thing you don't here about c section... However you need to contact your ob try drinking some juice and laying on one side see if you can get the baby to move also each baby is diffrent :)
