I had an early ultrasound and it showed that i have a subchorionic hemorrhage. The doctor said I should be fine but he's going to see me every week to closely monitor me. Anyone ever had this happen to them?

Had one. At 13w, started bleeding very heavily. Went to the ER, where they saw a low-lying subchorionic hemorrhage. I had no pain, but lots of red blood. There was so much bleeding because I also had placenta previa, and the blood was coming down through the cervix.

I was put on modified bed-rest for about 5 weeks, until the hemorrhage was significantly resolved. I didn't have to stay in bed, just in the house taking it easy as possible and keep from being jostled. After the first week, I was allowed to drive, but didn't want to drive any more than I absolutely had to. I was afraid if I got into a fender-bender, it would start the bleeding again.

I found out many of my friends had similar experiences and went on to have healthy deliveries.

I also had several weeks of brown spotting, which was normal. I had occassional follow-up u/s, not even weekly, maybe every 3-4 weeks. By about 21 weeks, it had resolved itself and the blood just got absorbed back into my body. it also rose higher and higher into my uterus and away from the placenta.

Does this help? I'm 29 weeks now, and it's a non-issue.

I know that scared feeling, but from everything I researched, they seem to be a fairly common complication and are likely to resolve on their own. I had the added drama of mine potentially impacting the placenta, which is largely why I was on bedrest. It is easy to forget that pregnancy remains an act of faith, and not just a medical event.

Please keep me posted.

Thanks for responding. Even if the doctor said everything should be ok. i'm still so scared. What happened to you is the same thing that is happening with me it sounds like. I just can't wait to get into another ultrasound to see if anything has changed.
