congrats on the news.

you can start buying baby stuff as soon as you pass the 3 month mark. thats when i did. its so much easier and you can budget more by putting things on layby and paying them off so you dont have to pay for everything upfront. i buy little things when i go to the supermarket if i see something i need.

make a list now and start crossing them off as it will help with your budgetting and the expense of everything.

also when you have your baby shower advise people on wat you still need so you dont end up with double of everything. i did that with my first shower and will be doing it with my second so i only get wat is needed.

wish you all the best and happy shopping

Congrats!

I started buying baby stuff as soon as i had the money. If you dont mind using others things, ask people you know [or friends of family/friends] that has had a child somewhat recently to see if they will give you a few things.

I'm only 9 weeks and I'm hoping for a girl (congrats on yours !) and I've had the temptation to buy little dresses and girly things without even knowing. Seeing you already know that yours is a girl it's not a bad thing to start picking little things up :)

My plan was to buy maternity things for me in the first trimester and wait until the halfway mark to find out my baby's gender. Now it's all about getting things for my baby. I think it's great to get things early while you have the energy to go to all sorts of places.

Start saving money to buy things as soon as you're pregnant, by all means, but I wouldn't start buying until 20 weeks, just to be safe. Until then, do all your research on brands & prices etc so once you hit the 20 weeks you can go straight out and pick things up. I also only bought the large items, like cot, change table, pram, car seat etc, and left all the smaller stuff for guests to buy for my baby shower.

I bought little things when I found out we were having a boy. A blue teddy bear, a bib, a blanket...

Although, when I was very newly pregnant (6 weeks or so) my husband and I were in the NBA store in NYC and I had to buy a pair of Celtics socks. I figured we were safe whether we were having a boy or a girl on that purchase. Start making a list for your registry and if you see something that is just too cute to pass by, get it.

Well, when you're on a budget like I am, it's never too early to start buying baby stuff. I started buying as soon as I found out we are having a boy. I'm having a good time, but I've also been able to find great deals. One of the best ways to start is to put together your registry, I use mine like a checklist of what to buy. Our baby room is slowly starting to fill, and will be ready when he comes April 5. As long as you don't go overboard, I say START!
