I\'m excited to see that this group is growing! As a new foster mom (11 months), I thought it would be good for us to be represented on what looks like a great site! Can you take a moment to let me know what you\'d like out of the group? thanks for joining, and happy new year!\n\nShelley

Hi my name is Christi. We have been fostering for 1 1/2 years. Our second placement was a 3 week old little girl. We had her for over a year. We were led to believe we may have been able to adopt but then some relatives came into the picture that DSS had never known about. May 1st she went with the Aunt and Uncle who made a big show about letting us keep in touch and see how she was doing. Needless to say they haven't returned one phone call from us. We just pray that she is doing well and they love her even half as much as we did. We are waiting for another placement at the moment. This will be a great way to connect with other foster parents! Just to talk to someone who understands how crazy working with DSS can sometimes be. And to share about the little blessings that come into our lives either for a short time or for a long stay.

I am new at this group and also to foster parenting. Our home inspection is this monday and we will officially be foster parents once we have a child placed in our home. Not sure what I am looking for.

Hi, Melanie here in MN.  We have been lic. for 4 years and have had 5 children come through our home.  3 of them are still with us aged 16, 14, & 10.  We are in the process of adopting the 16 year old.  Thanks for starting this group...sometimes it feels like there is so much out there for bio moms, but nothing for foster/adoptive moms.  It's great to have a place to ask questions, look for support or just vent:)

Hi Shelley!  My name is Jane and we have been fostering for a year and a half and absolutely LOVE it!  We have 5 kids of our own, 3 out of the house already and two foster kids that we are hoping to adopt soon.  I'd love to just have a place to ask questions of other foster moms and discuss problems or ongoing issues.  And I am so encouraged to read and share stories of the many blessings fostering has on families.
