Family Picnics

I used to LOVE these as a kid too. I couldn't get enough of the picnics in the park. Its a great family actvity for spring & summer.

During the cold/wet months, do a living room picnic and light the fire place. Place a large blanket on the floor and involve the kids by having them help you set up the basket of foods, napkins, and dinner ware.
~ Food Ideas- (as non messy as possible- no spaghetti!!) Fried chicken, deli sandwhiches, hamburgers, potato salad, pasta salads, corn on the cob.
~For drinks to avoid spilling on the floor, use those bottled water bottles that have the snap cap you can suck the liquid from, or those thermoses that have the same type of cap.

~ Desert- brownies, cupcakes, cookies

~ play a card or board game on the blanket in front of the fire place after you eat.

The kids will love it =)

We love love love picnics! Your suggestions are wonderful and I could not agree more. We have picnics in the park during our hikes in the Spring. Another way to add to the family fun with picnics for us is to have them photographed. Our family photographer is going to do some family shots this year of us having our picnic. So not only do you have tons of fun but you get to keep and share those moments with family and friends.
