My pediatrician told me as young as 4 months is okay for peanut butter and fish. They are both high allergy foods so I did watch for reactions but there is no food allergies on either side of his family.

We have food allergy history so we will wait with pb until eighteen months or so. I know that most drs advise that you wait until at least one year of age.

My pediatrician told me to wait till my son was 15 months, but there are no food allergies in my family. I wanted to know early if he had any allergies, so I gave him peanut butter and jelly and he loves it. It is your decision on when and what to feed your child.

Big allergy risk there. I wouldnt do it until at least 2 years of age. Speak with your doctor.

My doctor told me no peanut butter until 1 year of age. There's no family history of allergies but I'm going to go with what the doctor said and wait.

well as melissa said peanut butter or another other nut is not good until the child is a year...but being 1st time mom and never heard this before my daughter has already had peanut butter before the dr. told me. it was just a little bit on her toast and i did watch her for an allergic reaction. She was fine so as long as there is no history and you watch her she should be fine!! :)

No, no peanut (or any nut for that matter) until atleast a year old for allergy purposes. If there is no history of peanut allergies in you or your husband's family, then bring it up to your pediatrician and see what they say. I will not be giving my daughter peanut butter until atleast a year as there is a peanut allergy in my side of the family.
