My 2 1/2 year old has been getting up in the middle of the night crying for mommy ( of course not daddy) and sometimes cries even harder once I go to her. Its the absolute worst!!! Alot of times she wont go back to sleep for a few hours, but not until after she has a complete breakdown, which is hard to take when you yourself are exhausted. Many times she wont even fall asleep until after 11, and believe me, we try to get her down around 9, but it rarely works. She stays over with my brother and sister in law once a week, and has stayed at my moms overnight on occasion, and sleeps like an angel every time. Im at my wits end, Im a full time student, employed part time, and have a house to take care of. I feel like Im on my last leg every day, Im constantly tired and my brain is so fuzzy most of the time that I have a hard time with my homework. I guess Im wondering if theres anyone out there who is or has gone through this and what did or didnt work for you. Im ready to start sleeping in my car out in the driveway!!!

Since your little one sleeps fine when she is elsewhere I would say that realistically she should be able to go to bed alright at home. My only suggestion is to go in to her the first time put her back to bed tell her mommy is really tired and is going to sleep then leave. If she cries out again go in put her back to bed but this time don't talk to her and then leave again. It is my opinion that she is probably doing this because she can, she cries and like the good mommy you are you jump, but now the jumping needs to come to an end make it clear to her that you are making the rules not her.
