My son has been swaddled since the day he was born. He wouldn't sleep any other way. (still in the sleep positioner as well, Sad I know!) He has slept through the night since he was about 6 months old. Now he has decided that he want's to sleep on his tummy, which is fine, but he won't sleep unswaddled so he get's mad that he turns over, he get's stuck and can't get his hands out. I have tried the sleep sac, leaving him unswaddled, no positioner, loose swaddle, just a blanket to no luck. Now he won't sleep swaddled, or unswaddled. HELP! Anyone have this problem?

I love the bum in the air too! It's so cute!! He is doing pretty good with the sleep sac. so I hope it stays this way!

Thanks

I found my son went through this stage. He slelpt on his back until he was 7mths old and then he decided he wanted to sleep on his side but sometimes would roll right over onto his tummy and was unable to sleep comfortably so kept waking all through the night. He got the jist of it eventually and learned to turn his head to the side on his tummy and breath that way. He sleeps any way now. My favourite is bum up in the air. Hang in there, your son will eventually adjust and find a comfy position. Took my son just over a month to work it out.

Thanks Eryn, it is definately something to try. I'm willing to try anything at this point!

you could always try wrapping him loosely so that when he does roll over he can pull his arms out. if he keeps whinging, go back in after a minute to calm him down and let him know you are still there. if he keeps going try to lengthen the time to an extra minute each time you go in there. if you reach 10 minutes, pull him out for a cuddle and reassurance until he has calmed down, then you can try again.
it worked for a little while with my eldest (now 2yrs), but it doesnt always work for everyone. but at least its something to try.

Mine was the same way with only the positioner though. Now the only place he will sleep basically is in his swing!! I fear the day he grows out of it (which is gonna be real soon!) He will sleep in his bed for about an hour or so then he wakes up and sits up or stands up!! I need some help too! lol
