Does anyone have a safe home remedy for a constipated newborn??? My lil girl is only 8 days old and we've been having problems with her being gassy and now she is constipated...not sure what would be the safest technique because she is so young...Help please!

My baby was struggling hard while trying to poop but nothing was coming out. I used different remedies but nothing worked until we put him on Babies magic tea.

My baby was switch to soy forumla cause she was constipated and gasy. Corn syrup works in the bottle my doctor told me to put 1 tsp in each of her bottles and it helped her go to the bathroom just fine.

Mix up her formula with slightly more water than usual (about 5 ml), this will take about 5 days to work.
My daughter went through the same thing about 2 weeks ago, we took her to Dr and she was prescribed a syrupy liquid, which worked after 2 days. It helped no end, and now she actually sleeps of a night rather than cries! :)
Good luck with whatever you do.

Hi there :) My daughter is 3 weeks old & after having to change her onto formula she became constipated & its so awful seein them in that much painn & not bein able to do anything :( As a quick fix boil half a teaspoon of brown sugar in 50ml of water and pop 10ml into a bottle. I have had to start using Coloxcyl Drops now; but to help put her at ease b4 you get a chance to c Dr or midwife the sugar will definitely help & it works straight away.

hiya i have the same problem with my 2 week old and my midwife suggested that i use the readymade version of her formular milk for a day or so, i did and it worked a treat, so now i use ready made at night and powder in the day and it keeps her regular. hope this helps

diluted prune juice (50mls prune juice/ 200mls water) or a bottle of water with a drop of honey or half a teaspoon of sugar, they both worked for my daughter and they now work for my newborn son he is only 2 and a half weeks now and i have been doing it from birth... if u try the prune juice it is best to give it to her in the morning after a feed so that it has through-out the day to start working and u will have to keep doing it for a few days if you stop after a day because it looks like she is doing better she will just end up constipated again overnight... hope this helps :)

always ask a doctor first! I have the same problem and T first we had to give her baby suppositories. Since it seemed to be an ongoing problem, I give her Myli on drops which help relieve her gas, or at least seem to make her more comfortable.another suggestion if sheis bottle feeding is to water down her formula or breast milk, it will help her bowel movements. Good luck, I know it's frustrating! Remember, you are not alone!
