our 7 month old used to lie still for his diaper changes, but since he has become more mobile.... oh my gosh, it is almost impossible to change his diaper much less put his clothes on.... he just wants to roll onto his hands and knees and crawl away! i've resorted to starting to put his diapers on while he is on his tummy, then standing him up to try to get the sticky tabs in front down. is this what other mommy's do too? any suggestions?

i love babies , enjoy this time guys , i am going through the same thing but as i read your posts i am just laughing. it gets frustrating but this time is so short enjoy it while it lasts, there is not turning back time once it is behind you. after four kids and my oldest being 11 yrrs old but at the size of a 16 yr old and thinkig he is 20 i miss the time when i could blow raspeberries on his tummy . ofcourse at this age i am enjoying other things but i miss him as my little one.

I'm having this problem too! The last couple of weeks my nappies look shocking! :) I normally just lie him on his back and blow raspberries on his belly and he starts laughing and then you have to do it super quick! Just try making silly faces or noises at him and see if that works for a few minutes! Hope i helped a little bit!

I use the buckle on the changing pad to prevent my LO from rolling around and I give her a clean diaper to hold so she is "helping" mommy. When she give me the diaper to put on her, I reward her with big kisses and raspberries. The only time she gives me a hard time is after her bath because like most babies, she likes to be nekkid.

this is such a problem! my 7 month old son used to lay still but now as soon as he sees me pick thenappy up, hes rolled over and crawled off. so now most of the time i just leave him for 5 minutes and then he just lays there and lets me put a nappy back on easily.

OMG... Ive been having the same problem. My Troy is just ready to move on by the time I get his dirty diaper off. I found that giving him a toy whe he wiggles away often gives you about 30 more seconds! Hopefully, I will become more practiced at speed changing so that we won't have to play pin down the baby anymore! LOL.

I taught my daughter how to clean her face off with a baby wipe. So while I'm cleaning her booty, she'll clean her face. It works pretty well for us.

I give my son something to play with, keep his hands and mind busy while I quickly change his diaper!

My daughter does the same thing. But now she just cries the second it's diaper change time because she just wants to be on the go. What i've tried doing now is giving her a clean diaper to play with while i change her or give her the empty wipes wrapper. she seems to get occupied with both of those.

i started having that problem but taught my daughter the wait command. i say to her wait and hold my finger up in front of her if she continues to move i hold her down repeating wait please until she stops wriggling. first week or so it took quite a while for her to stop trying to get away and lots of tears hehe but now she waits quietly, also i find a little toy she can play with as a distraction helps get her mind of trying to get away. goodluck xx

i sing to my daughter, that seems to keep her from crawling away during a diaper change

I've been having the same problem. It seems to be like a ten man job now. But I've started to either distract her with a toy or clean diaper or wait till she has a tiny bit of her bottle left and lay her on the floor give her the bottle and hope I am quick enough! I've still had a few instances that I have to chase down the little naked butt.

It sounds like we are all having the same issue! I joke that I feel like I should sing the mission impossible theme song every time we do diaper changes! My little man is always on the move, even in his sleep. If I have to leave the room, he must go into his pack and play until I get back because he is very fast too! Everyday with him is a new adventure. This weeks adventure is cutting teeth-cruel and unusual punishment for the poor little guy.

oh my gosh. my son hasn't been able to stay still for a diaper change in oh about 4 months lol.. he rolls over as soon as i get it off.. except with poopy diapers.. he HATES having a dirty butt (thank god lol) so he stays still til the baby wipes get the job done, then he flops over... um suggestions.. well this is what i do.. clear any toys, make sure baby wipes/diapers/clothes/blankets/ANYTHING are not in reach of him so he isnt tempted to roll over, reach, etc.).. after i get him cleaned up.. i QUICKLY put the new diaper underneath him and messily latch the tabs on front.. cause by now he's squirming away.. then once i can distract him.. talking, singing ,tickling (usually does the job).. i seen a response on here for raspberries that actually will do great!! but then when i have him all distracted-like, i strap the tabs tighter how i want it then wah-lah!! :) changed :)

i have sooo much trouble getting clothes/diapers on my daughter! she is almost 7 months and mobile and sometimes I feel like it takes 100 tries to get a diaper on her right. I definitely dress her while she's on her belly now.. its pointless for me to try to get her on her back for that. if i give her a toy sometimes she'll lay still long enough for me to get the diaper halfway on her but as soon as i go to close it, she will dig her heels into the floor and scoot out of it! so frustrating, but funny too!

Same problem here... I've found that when she starts wriggling I sing a song (the same lines repetitiously as I don't know many by heart lol) or make loud funny random noises, she stops to stare at me... with the occasional smile/giggle. Normally it's long enough for me to get her diaper on ninja style.

I have the same issue... and if my LO is really tired and needs to be changed - I will put him on his changer and INSTANT burst of energy. I let him play with a clean diaper while I change him, sometimes a toy.. it doesn't always work tho... ESPECIALLY after bath... my husband and I think he just like to be naked... he's starting to learn how to open the tabs on his diaper.
