Jessy,
Relaxing is key to losing your baby weight. I am still losing from my DS that was born in 07. Five months is really not a very long time to work on losing that much weight. It can be frustrating, but allowing yourself to stress over it really won't help...it will be more hindering than anything. So, chill out and just keep doing what you're doing. If you get to the point where you feel that you need help, you can always look into group support, such as Weight Watchers. I joined them back in April and have dropped 23 lbs with the program. Of course, that teaches you the healthy way to lose weight as well. :)

Good luck in dropping it all off!

While bfing, I managed to lose all my pregnancy weight and tummy fat with the help of an organic tea called Mummy magic weight loss tea. Also maintained my metabolism and still bfing my baby successfully.

Stress keeps me from pulling off all the weight. Before I had my son Jared on 2/11/10 I was losing a bit of weight because of walking. I gained 30 lbs with this pregnancy which was about the average weight gain with my two other sons. My pre-pregnancy weight was 171(after two kids) which brought me to 201 at birth. I lost 15lbs a few weeks after having the baby and managed to drop back to my original 171 with a lot of walking and slight exercise. But breastfeeding and walking takes away the proteins out my body and I always seem hungier after doing both. The scale at the doctors read 191 but it must of been broken(lol) because it did not come on at first. Everyone's telling me I'm dropping the weight. I won't stress about it. I love my body especially after 2 kids 2 men and a baby(lol). I know it takes time. I am trying not to splurge on clothing, I would much rather get back into the size 8 jeans in my closet(in a size 12 now). Is that wishful thinking? Ha! Ha!

Everybody's body responds differently that is for sure! I was heavy before I got pregnant and gained 30 lbs with my pregnancy. I lost it all almost right away, but I have noticed that things have "settled" differently. cut yourself some slack though. Having a baby is such a miracle, and the pregnancy takes time so it will take your body time to get back to normal. I have been told that it takes your body 2 years for your genitals to even be back to normal-for some they never go back to the way they were, and 2 years for your organs to resettle back where they belong after having been pushed out of the way for so long! Whenever I feel down about how my body looks, I just think about what a miracle pregnancy and babies really are and then I start to feel better!

I feel the same way Allison. The mirror has become one of my worse enemies! I hate looking in it, because every time I do I still see the pudgy stomach.. It just seemed like it fell off with the first two kids. But I know this one will be much harder.. and probably will take a good 9 months or so to lose =)

I gained 60 lbs with my son born 2/19/10. I lost 30 lbs and I breastfeed for the 1st 3 months and walked a lot, eat right and for the last month I have been working out twice a week free weights and pilates, and it doesn't seem to want to go anywhere. People tell me all the time that I look good and that it looks like I have loss weight, but I do not see it and i do not like to look at myself in the mirror seeing that belly that makes me look like I'm still pregnant. I'm going to keep at it. I know that they say it took 9 months to put it on it will take 9 months to take it off. Who ever said that sucks! :) As it sounds reading above none of us want to wait the 9 months to take it off.

oh yes! with my youngest daughter who was born on Feb. 18, 2010 I gained 75 lbs with her. So far I have lost 40 lbs. But still have 35 more to loose. I have been doing Tae Bo and have found that to be the best work out to help me loose weight. Also you may try this website thedailyplate.com it will help you keep track of your calories and your weight.. Good luck!!

I gained more with my first pregnancy than with this past one (almost twice as much). I lost the 28 lbs I gained with Mayah, but I am still 10 lbs heavier than I was when I got pregnant with my son...I would love to lose even 5 of those, but I feel like it will never happen!

I lost the 30 lbs that I gained right away... however, I was 20 lbs heavier when I got pregnant than I normally am.... Now I still can't lose that 20 and it's like the weight has moved from my butt to my stomach... but my daughter makes it all worth it... will try soon to actually get rid of the extra lbs... just waiting until breastfeeding is over... which will be soon...

They say 9 months to put it on and 9 months to get it off. I was lucky with both my kids I lost the weight in 3-4 months. I am also breastfeeding which helps. It will come off eventually, don't stress or it will take longer or you may even gain some back. Stress does funny things to our bodies.

After you have your first child you have roughly a year too get your body back the way u want it. I gained 50 lbs as well. I have lost all but bout 5lbs of it. but I was alot more muscular so now I am bigger. but just slightly. I have been very sick wit thiss and that ever since I have had my daughter (2/22/10). You have too work at it. its not gonna come off by itsself. work hard. Kepp at it. Goodluck.

Geez you guys make me feel like a fatty. I gained a whopping 70lbs with my first. (she was a 7lb peanut a birth. go figure) I've lost 35lbs so far on the South Beach diet and using Alli. I know I'm on a steady course of weight loss but I'm in the Army and need to make height and weight in the next coming months or lose my orders. I'm thinking of taking a Zumba class since it's right down the street.

I still haven't lost the weight form my first! I gained 65 with my first, lost 35 of it before getting pregnant 5 months later. I only gained 30 pounds with my second, but have only lost 20 of those.. I guess about 30 pounds to go until i'm happy with my weight. I've heard about 9 months is reasonable depending on your energy level and activity level. One major thing I had to do was remind myself i'm no longer eating for 2! I was used to eating bigger portions because I had an excuse, which I no longer have...

I gained 50 lbs too. . .and I've lost 30 so far. Lots of water, walking and not worrying about it too much especially while managing the calories I need for breast feeding. Like the other moms are saying. . .it took nine months to gain! You WILL fit those pre-pregnancy jeans again!!!

I only gained twenty pounds with my daughter and took it all off in about a week. I was a bit chubby before I got pregnant, about twenty pounds overweight. Well anyway now, I gained about 10 pounds, I am so hungry now...ten times hungrier breastfeeding then I was pregnant! LOL. My daughter WIllow is now 3 and a half months. It takes time don't get discouraged!

I would relax, you still have time, especially with that much weight. It took you 9 months to gain it, it can take up to that long too lose it. Losing weight too fast is not good for the body, especially after you just had a baby. My LO was born 2/15 and I lost 25 of my 35 lbs within the first few weeks, but since I've been back to work, I have gained some of it back. Just keep at it and it will be off in no time.
