Fiber, eat lots of fiber rich foods, high fiber fruits, whole grains, beans, nuts, seeds and high fiber vegetables. Go to a healthfood store and ask about it they will know which food to eat to help you out, i had to as i was having the same problem as you and i love snacks, junkfood and never saw myself walking into a healthfood store lol, but high fiber foods work, try freshly squeezed orange juice to start with.

Pregnancy causes constipation. It's an unfortunate side effect. Talk to your dr about it. They have a new prenatal vitamin on the market that has a stool softener in it. Maybe that would be something to look into. I'm having the same issue on and off in this pregnancy, I inceased my fiber intake (Fiber one makes an awesome granola bar in several flavors) and because I'm lactose intolerant I drink a milk shake when it gets real bad. See what your OB thinks will work best for you.

I stopped taking prenatals a few weeks into my first healthy pregnancy. They made me so nauseous! If I took them in the morning I was miserable all day, and if I took them in the evening I was too sick to sleep. The high iron levels in the pills can make you sick and can cause constipation. I now take regular whole food vitamins, and upped my iron-rich foods (red meat, dark green veggies) so I get it naturally.

Pregnancy hormones also slow down your digestive system so your body can glean more nutrients from the food you eat. That could be another reason why you're having trouble with #2. I would just up my fiber foods like veggies or oatmeal and drink lots of water.

The prenatals could be why you can't keep food down. Or does it feel like heartburn? I had a lot of heartburn with both pregnancies, and it's already started at 18 weeks. My only solution is to chew my food really well, and to not scarf it down. I think last pregnancy I also drank lemon water, which helps the whole digestive system.

Good luck! Being pregnant can be really uncomfortable, but it's worth it in the end. :)
