My DS has acid reflux and has been on Zantac for about two and half months. If I don't have the med refilled in time and he goes a day or two without it he goes back to the vomiting thing really fast. I was wondering if anyone else deals with acid reflux and when he might grow out of it. We switched his formula to a lactos free one and that has helped but his meds are expensive.

Try giving him mylanta with all of his other feedings (ask doc first of course) they put my son on that and Zantac he did the zantac 2 times a day and mylanta with all of his other feedings. He couldn't take the mylanta and zantac at the same feeding though bc they will not work together.

My baby has reflux and he takes infant gaviscon, he didnt need the zantec as doc was reluctant to give it until we tried and tested the infant gaviscon first but i was hesitant as he was still vomiting even with it in his bottle. However after a couple of weeks, he got better and we only put half a sachet into his bottle, they are not expenisive at all. Some days when hes getting burped he will bring back a bit but its not that projectile vomiting. Maybe start to wean off Zantec and onto the infant gavison with your doctors advice. I hear once baby is about 6 months you can gradually cut down and by about 8-10 months should be no need for anything else. I tried to wean my son off at 4 mths but he wasnt ready, hes 5 mths now so im going to try him again over the next couple of weeks.
