my name is julia and Im new here. My fiance and I are in the process of becoming foster parents.
It is something I have wanted to do my whole life.
I am a stay at home mom and my fiance works the rigs here in Alberta Canada.
We have 3 kids, 7,3,and 19months. My daughter is mine from my ex husband, our 3yr old son is my fiances from an ex and our 19month old is our sons brother from a different dad. We have full custody of both of them.
In 2009 their mom dropped both of them plus their older brother off at the begining of oct. and didnt come back til the middle of november. Took them home for 4days and brought the two youngest back. The baby went home dec 23 til dec 30th and then came back. So in april we started court proceedings to get guardianship of both of them and hopefully parenting rights.
May 31 we got full custody of both with supervised visitation for the mom.
She hasnt seen them since the end of oct. this year and the babys dad hasnt seen him since july. Im wondering how to get their guardianship terminated or adopt them.
The mom wouldnt have gone along with us to get full custody but CFS told her to sign them to us or them so she picked us. They have been in her life for 5yrs..and I am not sure why the kids were never removed but they were horribly neglected.

If Mom and Dad aren't doing what they're supposed to do, it will come up in your meetings with their case worker. If not, ask. My nephew(my foster child)'s case worker has already asked us three times and he's only been in state custody for 2 and a half months if we would be interested in petitioning for full custody. If they cannot give you a straight answer, call their supervisor. Hope this helps!
