Hello Mothers of Twins!

I was wondering if there is a more specific forum for mothers with twins in the Los Angeles area? The Children's Hospital is doing a study studying the impact of genetics and the environment on twins between the ages of 12-16 and we are trying to find the best way to reach out to interested mothers. We are offering $380 for the half day study to compensate for making the families visit the hospital for the 4-5 hour study. I also noticed that a large portion of the mothers here have much younger twins than we are looking for. Does there happen to be a group for mothers of older twins?

Thanks in advance!

In response to the email questions I have been receiving, I am posting the information for the study. Thank you!

Do you have twins that are between 12 to 16 years old?

Have you ever wonder how genetics and environment influence your child's brain and personality?

Help USC scientists learn!

This research study conducted by Dr. Yaling Yang at Children's Hospital Los Angeles involves taking pictures of your twins' brains (using non-invasive MRI), filling out surveys about how they think and feel, and spitting into a cup. The entire study will take about 6 hours.

NO RADIATION! NO INJECTIONS!

Each of your twins will be paid $25/hour and you will be paid $35/ hour (usually about $380 per family for the visit).

Your twins may be eligible if they:
• are between 12 and 16 years old
• have no metal in their body (for example: surgical implants, permanent metal braces, etc.)
• do not have a neurological disorder
• had a birth weight more than 3 pounds 5 ounces

This research is voluntary. You will be with your children throughout the visit, and you can stop the participation any time during the visit for any reason. Any information you or your children provided will be kept strictly confidential.
